This page kind of annoys me. I'm not sure how to feel about either of them. I think Aggie was a bit stupid in her method- but I don't see why Karen made a phone call like that. How much time has passed? I mean, it can't have been that long, how long has she been sitting therE?

Davan. And that'd be a fairly amusing twist, Karen getting pregnant. :) I'm not sure how either of them would react.

That strip is a great example of why people like Penny and other people dislike Penny. She steps back from saying a really horrible thing, even after being pressed by Aggie, which is good. And then she instead says something utterly vapid and entitled, which is bad.

It's a really good piece of writing actually. Go T.
If it wasn't for stupid ideas, what would stupid people think?

I'm glad I actually read through this entire thing just because of that quote. It expresses my sentiments quite nicely. :)

C'mon, Aggie, turn those tears into righteous indignation. Karen and Charlotte need to be laid low, and Sara vindicated--weeping isn't going to achieve that. Channel that sorrow into something constructive for great justice.

@Denniss : I don't know, I think it's somewhat acceptable i.e I don't think she should went Plato and suddenly quote philosophies. But I think it's more of the nature of the strip. Back then, P&A's more towards highschool-themed comedy / dramedy. I think back then the last line were intended as a punchline. But yeah, I can see where you're going.

also, may I ask what does QFT mean?

@RD : Karen made that phone call to both unleash her rage/whatever emotion she had, and to hurt Aggie as much as possible, I think.

@cyberbard : true, we want hope, but I think this is kinda..wishful thinking. Of course, optimism isn't bad, but I can't say I'm sure Penny's the one in that car....
I mean, I personally don't think we should throw realism out of the window for the sake of wishful thinking...but that;s just me. >>Added.
Oh well, can't help but wait~

I don't think it's just that Penny's a popular girl. I think some of it has to do with the fact that she so rarely is shown thinking about anything that doesn't directly affect her. Which isn't as bad as hurting other people, and certainly doesn't take away from making the right decisions when she's confronted with them (which she does a decent job at)- it's just not an endearing personality trait.

But with that parting shot, I guess I'm just tired of this coming up every thread. Let's just have a permanent, stickied "Why this character is better than this character" thread. This comic has nothing to do with how maligned Penny is, or how she was once mean/not actually mean to Helen. This thread is long enough already.

Like her more now, actually. She's 100% right. Aggie is a poser, Aggie did go against her own morals,

In what way do you feel Aggie was acting immorally?

Well, maybe a bit with the Nice Guying.

However, her efforts to split Marshall from Karen weren't immoral. She does care for him, and Karen is a toxic pit of bitch.

Edit: Unless, of course, Karen doesn't realize Aggie knows about the rape slander bit, or in other words Karen's involvement. Remember, we've seen signs that Karen now regards Penny-related concerns over and done with. Maybe she doesn't even consider that stuff as something that's still happening and bearing awful fruit. If so, all she knows is that Aggie is trying to swipe her beloved boyfriend from an (outwardly seeming) good relationship.

That is pretty immoral.

Holy shit you guys, 16 pages over night?! Is this a new record??

and um yeah wow

edit* To be clear, I did NOT see this coming at all, even though it makes perfect sense Marshall would call Karen and tell her what had just happened. Aggie was pretty much asking for Marshall's reaction, but this is just... augh. Insult to injury, I suppose.

Well, I agree with Paps on this one. Whatever gets Aggie over Marsh.

Glad to see I'm not the only one who thought Karen missed the boat with this one. I have yet to pick up on anything that could be construed as a seduction attempt, and I really don't think finding someone attractive but not making a move is being a "poser." Hell, I don't think Aggie's ever been much of a poser; she's painfully, sometimes irritatingly sincere about everything. Shrill, okay, I'll give Karen that one, but the rest of it just doesn't add up. Aggie's not especially conniving and while she's certainly an activist with a big heart, that seems to deal more with principles than her personal squishy feelings. Karen skated by nearly all of Aggie's actual flaws-- shrill (got that one), naive, obsessive, poor self-control, occasionally holier-than-thou, hypocritical (especially re Penny)-- and just threw out a bunch of bullshit about being a slut with an Evil Master Plan for the whole world. It's like, Karen, why did you pass up all that perfectly good truth for this? Not a very good evil overlord if you flub it and just start calling names.

Quoted For Truth :')

@Dennis I actually wasn't referring to her restraint in not bringing up Aggie's mother :') I was referring to what you interpreted as vapid and entitled. Yeah, it's overdramatized, but I think it's essentially true (at least when one substitutes Penny for Blondes), or at least a half-truth. I actually thought it was funny— stylistically it reminded me of Wilde.
