Man, that was just sad to read.

Based on her facial expressions, I'd say she wasn't intending to exclude Ronny, but damn, that could have gone better.

Well, no, but you must understand, to a Ronnie, everything is exclusionary.

Um, wow. Jade reminds me of all these girls that I could not stand when I was in school, or in fact, who I work with. Life is not more fun when you purposely exclude someone; it's cruel.

I don't think Ronnie is a stereotype at all, actually. Not yet. As of now, he's an over weight dude who just got dissed by this chick, and he's a bit miffed about it. I can't blame him; I would be. We don't know his background, or even what happened to him this morning. As someone else pointed out, we don't even know if that "UGLY" on the mirror is in his mind or not. So, yeah.

I'll admit that playing messenger for Jade might get on my nerves too, but I don't think she's being intentionally cruel. I don't feel excluded when people talk about something popular that I don't like so I'd actually be relieved if someone doesn't explain the entire series of Glee to me before handing me some kind of personality quiz based on the characters.

I have a theory and it's that Ronnie hoped college would be different than high school. He hoped people would judge him on ability, intelligence, or skill other than looks, but after one month that hasn't happened and so he might be feeling deceived. Of course he should give it a little more time since it's not like things are going to change within a month.

It's like passing someone in the hallway and hearing them laughing. Intellectually, you might know that they're not actually laughing at you, but there's always that part of your brain you can't shake that insists that they are and that the part that knows they aren't is wrong.

I have to say that I don't like Ronnie. I'm sorry, but he really isn't a nice guy.

We seem to be jumping to judgements based on, um, very little? Very *very* little?

Well then you can at least rule out that he is suffering from Nice Guy Syndrome.

I'm not sure Jade is deliberately excluding Ronnie- she's being somewhat thoughtless, sure, but I think Ronnie is being a little oversensitive.

Aw man I do feel for Ronnie. Having 'ugly' written on your mirror is pretty cruel for someone who most likely has issues with his looks. He's obviously throwing out his frustrations at the wrong prrson thus creating a breach between those who actually are genuinly nice. I just hope someone can either get past his insecurity or get the bullying to stop. It's breaking my heart. ;.;

I beg to differ, I think this is setting up something with him in the near future. If he wasn't a nice guy he wouldn't do that favor for Jade, he would brush her off or tell her off or refuse in a not-so-nice manner. But he didn't do that, he accepted it and vented his frustrations for a second but still did it.

I still don't like him. He's the kind of person I've met before who I usually try very hard to avoid. There's something wrong with him, but he would rather lash out than talk things out.

...I can't tell if Ronnie needs to be hugged or smacked.
Probably both.

Also, my first thought was that he might be a "T" character, or maybe "I?" The hint at body issues gives me that vibe. Or is he gonna be our token cis/straight? :P

Buried deep down is the heart of a good person who is a true friend that is devoted to others, and accepting that job of delivering a message to Lisa is part of that personality.

To me and from my own experiences there is a difference between lashing out and venting a frustration. Doing it verbally in a snide manner like that I would call venting, but if he threw in insults and went off on a rant or worse that would be lashing out.

Regarding talking things out...well as was alluded to in the last strip it has been tried by Hank but failed. Ronnie may not know how to or may not be able to open up to others yet.

It's really hard for people like him who probably grew up being put down, ignored, used, abused to open up to anyone who aren't close to them and without the right person to show that they aren't that kind of personality they may unintentionally hurtful to others. Him going to see Lisa, whom we all know to be the anti-everything and probably the most social and inclusive person out there is setting up to be the best possible thing for Ronnie.
