Does this strip have anyone starting to wonder why Hank became an RA? He seems to find the whole interacting with the dorm residents part of being an RA uncomfortable.

And why is it so important that they open up. It's good that Hank is a responsible RA, but unless they seek his counsel it's not his concern.

As for Clarice it's difficult to say how she's related. The way she looks at him doesn't indicate she's a relative. If Hank is in fact gay and she was his beard she wouldn't have that optimistic look like he's an old crush she hasn't gotten over. Given the climate of the place he came from he might have remained in the closet for the sake of survival and she doesn't know it.


Oh and am I the only one who's name association with Clarice didn't think of Clarice Starling, but Clarice from Girls with Slingshots?

what was the first panel from the 2012 preview that has been accounted for? I know that Sara found a pair of men's undies, but I didn't believe that the exact panel had been used in-story yet. I don't know if that suggests a slight change of the art, or if that is another undie incident still to occur.

Keep in mind that when T and his artists have done preview panels, the corresponding "moment" in the actual comic isn't necessarily identical to the teaser panel.

E.g. the 2009 P&A preview. Some of the panels there later showed up in near-identical form: Duane looking warily at Charlotte's love sonnet, Aggie in love with the mannequin in her dream. Others did not: teenage Rob flirting obnoxiously with Lynda, the tiger close-up, Penny recoiling in shock upon seeing who she woke up with. In those cases, the teaser panels showed the general idea of what would later happen.

So yeah, I think we can consider the "Sara looking puzzledly at male briefs" panel accounted for, as with the "Hank and a woman going for a walk" panel.

OTOH, while Hank is kind of a grouch outwardly, remember that he did show genuine concern for Lisa's well-being, the morning she'd fallen apart. Even though he was (justifiably) irritated by some of the things she said. And in the end, his taking time to listen to her seems to have helped: she got out of bed and was her usual genki self again.

Yeah, Uri Geller = self-proclaimed psychic that got all up in arms about the design of a Pokemon back in 2000. It was actually kind of funny, seeing how far someone went to say "that's ripping me off!"

Also, yay! 3 new characters that we might be seeing soon. I'm amused that Lisa is bugging Hank about the new bands when she's got a musically-inclined dorm-mate she could easily be trading with. XD Clarice could be referring to friendship there, with "thought you weren't interested anymore" - I mean, not all relationships have to be about romance.

I'm going to guess that Uri and Ronnie are the two new people from the Temperance walking strip. I'm also going to guess that Hank is talking about being an RA with Clarice, rather than dating. After all, it's pretty clear that something traumatic happened before, so maybe he just walked away from being an RA when he 'shut down' and is trying to get back to even keel.

Call me cynical but it could also be in that situation he had no choice but to do it for her, either by law or by agreement with the school...in case it wasn't consentual and the cops or school had to get involved.

Then again he does play off as the gruff person with the heart of gold if he sees a need to help out.

I'm still sticking to my guns that Hank is gay.

-Belly shirts.
-Something about the eyelashes on the bottom of his eyes.
-Recognized himself in Lisa's fanfic and didn't have a fit.
-Claire is a relative, or therapist.

At a *minimum* Hank is bi but I still think predominately gay.

I'm going to make a guess that Clarice isn't in fact interested in Hank romantically. I suspect Hank was involved with some activist group she's a part of, and perhaps cut off contact after the horrible incident that haunts him.
