...Bubbles? Do you have any spot on the Internet where you keep all your drawings?
Because they kinda make me happy.

This reminds me... I Was Kidnapped By Lesbian Pirated From Outer Space! (That's right, not only does it have lesbians in space, they're pirates too. And it updates twice a week, so yay). I love the retro-comic art style.

And YU+ME:dream, a now-completed webcomic from the same author, is brilliant on so many levels.

I tend to upload them to my TinyPic account, but I've got some stuff posted to my dA account. Most of it is more traditional art, though, not hastily done MSPaint doodles for expressing some emotion.

svenman.

I've only recently come across Tim Minchin, but he is absolutely superb: in this song, hammering home a point about prejudice with erudite poetry delivered so every word can be heard, whilst reducing his audience to tears of laughter (well,me anyway: "it's a homophone" . collapse of stout party). After, of course, he's taken you all the way up the garden path with the letters, making you all wonder just what's going to come next.

This is also the man who has, I suspect, established a record for the most uses of the word "fuck" in the course of a single two-minute song . So he's not always cuddly or safe. Better for it.

(Tim Minchin being very rude - warning: this song is not safe in any way. If you are offended by swearing or disrespect to religious authority, do not listen. The problem won't go away, but you won't be upset, so that's alright then, isn't it)

CEOIII: I can't comprehend the idea that having sex with a willing partner is something to feel guilty about because afterwards that person ran like they just woke up with 3 dead coeds in the room.

Sorry, was in a hurry and forgot. The dA is here. I don't know how to link to TP archives and wouldn't even if I could. The stuff I post there is already posted where I created it for.

I gave blood today, which makes me feel good about myself.

Also, I'm jobhunting right now on account of having recently graduated into a not-so-brilliant job market. As I was sitting down with the free cup of tea they give you after donating blood, I got talking to one of the other donors. He turned out to work for a local company that: (a) Does cool stuff and (b) frequently hires graduates from my subject (a fairly niche scientific discipline). So now I've got a new potential employer to go after. Quite an unexpected benefit of blood donation!

So I'm currently in Madison, Wisconsin, where a company is wine-ing and dine-ing me for an interview tomorrow where I will also have to give a presentation. I'm excited about the experience, and super pumped about my presentation: Non-Euclidean Geometry. It's one of my favorite topics, so much so that I used it on a first date with a guy (he and I are currently doing quite well, so I guess it worked!). I don't know if I want the job because I'd have to relocate, BUT I'm excited for the opportunity and, hey, they're paying for everything!

Also, this picture kills me every time:

My basement!*

*-actually, I haven't been in the basement of my apartment in more than a year. I probably have a family of mutant rats learning to cook meat down there, and I'd never know...

How did I forget that one? Luuurrve it.

Happy thing: I just made Bailey's fudge for a friend of my husband, thus I smell amazing and so does my flat. Also, I think I did reasonably well on my phonology midterm yesterday. :)

My happy thing for today: the girl on the dating site that I have a bit of a crush on (on the girl, not the site) is still replying to my messages and wrote in reply to a mention of my gender issues something supportive along the lines of "you're welcome to talk to me about these things, if you want to". My short translation doesn't look as supportive but I guess you get the idea. So, this might be going somewhere after all :) .

Squee! That's encouraging to hear, I'm sure, Lia. Here's hoping something will come of it.
