Sudden moment of squee: I tweeted a thank you at my favourite BBC Radio 2 DJ for playing the Proclaimers, and he read it out right after the song finished. I love that in spite of so much new technology, it's still really quite exciting to hear your name read out on the radio.

Isn't it great when they notice you?

I had a similar squee some time back, when I made a series of posts on scans_daily featuring all the costumes worn by the character Black Alice, and my comments on them (minus a few that had been put into other then-recent posts). Black Alice was created, and, in all but a couple appearances, written by, Gail Simone.

The first post, Gail herself popped in to say 'this is cool', then linked to it elsewhere. The second she popped in again to say it was cool - and that she'd used my first post for reference!

I still fly a little high from that one. ^__^

@Neko: Gail Simone responds and retweets over on Twitter, too. I sure wasn't expecting her to share this with people.

Dear Happythreaders,

Please to be telling me your favorite movie kthx.

(Mine is Robin Hood: Men in Tights, but I'll watch anything with Mel Brooks' name on it.

Multiple times.

A day.)

The Quiet Man. Or Seven Samurai.

Hyperbole and a Half is a glorious thing. It's a shame that it doesn't update more often, but I guess if Allie is Dealing With Stuff, that's more important. :/

And I STILL left out movies:

Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels AND Layer Cake (Snatch is fun, too, but it's a little more uneven).

Also, Val, you can have a single season of MLP: FiM as a choice if I can get the full six episode run of FLCL. Because, seriously, that's the Tank Girl of animation.

Oh, yeah, I want to pick Tank Girl, too.

Pancake day? How quaint! In rural PA, where I grew up, we call it Fastnacht Day! :P

Oh man, yes, me too! Love Tank Girl.

If I'm not mistaken, Allie Brosh announced a while back that her sabbatical from the blog is due to the fact that she is working on a book. :D

I remember her saying that posts would be less frequent, but she also said that she would still post. I assumed that the reason she hadn't been posting at all was that she was still dealing with depression on top of everything else.

... People who like the Tank Girl movie? Yay! It's fun not being alone. >_>

(I like it better than the comics, even...the art on the comics is awesometacular, but the writing not so much.)

Enough people like MLP here for me to justify linking the combination of MLP and death metal known as So Many FU*CKING Wonders. I advise turning your sound down considerably before you click the link.
