It's pretty safe to say Jared is a goner and hopefully Feddyg since at this point the good guys need at least one win. I was worried that Ally might be caught in the blast, but she appears safe. Mech-Tech might've downloaded elsewhere since we don't see her on screen. Ult seemed to be reverting back to his original form which might make him vulnerable so it's possible he died and history has been changed. However, it's also possible that Mech-Tech worked out a last minute deal with Feddyg to bring down whatever magical barrier AEGIS has on him if he created some energy field to deflect the blast. With the constant reversals for both sides it's difficult to predict what will happen next.

Well, okay, but at least he died with an accomplishment. I can handle that kind of death. Killing off two of the current greatest threats the world has known? Yeah. That's a way to go.

Keith. You always did think you were hot stuff, but in the end, everyone's going to be glad to forget you. No final boss fight for you, asshole. You don't deserve one.

If this is truly the end of Ult and Feddyg...then I can be happy.
Sad, because we have lost a great man in Jared Cognomen. But happy.

Jared Cognomen, there's only one thing I can do in reaction to your actions today:

I couldn't find one where the dude actually shoots a rifle into the air.

Farewell Jared,

The character who spent the his entire time in the series being not quite good enough; struggling to keep up, first with Jones, then with Rikk, then with Will and the next gen fans; the one member of the team who never got operational duties; who always seemed confused; always just a hairs breadth away from deserving a place in the team. He got to go the way he would have wanted to go; confident, competent, and effective. God bless and godspeed.

(And after making us do all these eulogies, T is going to tell us Jared isn't dead now, isn't he?)

T is not like mainstream comic companies. Death is not meaningless to him. When a character dies, they COULD come back, but it would be some kind of ordeal. Their death meant something so bringing them back has to mean something. Jared's not going into a "healing coma." HE GOT LASERED. Because he's Jared Motherf***ing Cognomen and he killed Hyperman.

Boo-yah.

And it takes that (or a tactical nuke) to kill that much awesome.

(As a side note, Alisin may have avoided getting within the blast radius because she spent too much time trying to squeeze into her uncooperative pants. Leather pants saved her life!)
