Of course, it's possible that he's already left, and just left his shorts. Or she wasn't in when they started and didn't notice them when she came in (seems...rather unlikely, even if they'd already finished the fun and had fallen asleep or sommat). Still, at first blush, it seems most likely that a fella's come into the room while Sara was having her dream. And, since Lisa's neither a jerkass nor an idiot, having made that agreement just that morning...

That's a good point.

Also, now I think of it, regarding the "Lisa got smashed" explanation, Lisa, like several but not all of her friends back in high school, doesn't drink. And in her case, as I think T stated once (can't recall when), it's because she, like Katy-Ann in "Communion," has been afraid of what negative aspects of herself might come out under the influence. That of course doesn't mean she'll never drink, ever, but it does make it that less likely she'd get blitzed, even during the rough night she's had.

My theory: Sara's still dreaming. She'll look up to the top bunk, and there'll be Lisa, Penny, Aggie, Stan, Hank, a few of the girls from the party, and anyone else her subconscious chooses to throw in there.
I'm Charlie Owens, good night, and good luck.

Wow. If you listen, you can almost hear Jason's cry of "You want me to draw WHAT???" from here. (Assuming you're right, that is.)

This is my favourite theory yet. The Lisa panty-raid idea is 2nd.

You are all missing the obvious solution.

Lisa is the underwear.

Once Sara does what? Or should that have been "are"?

Added some emphasis.
Once she lets. Leah's touch make her a woman in all the right places, that is.

Hmm, my brain must have been switched off. I wonder how that happened :P .

ETA: "let me" can be read as "I shall" or as "don't resist". Brain was fully functional after all.

No, I always liked that style on her better.

Same here...
...but she clearly likes the new one better, unfortunately.

I think the second panel is a bit creepy, more so when taken out of context. Is that just me?

It's a nightmare sequence (albeit with a sexy bit in the midst of it), so it's meant to be creepy. Just as Sara's fear, in her waking life, that she has nothing inside her must creep her out.

Edited to add: Another creepy element, albeit one that fits with actual dream-logic, is Sara and Leah abruptly switching from a child/guardian (or sitter) relationship to a lover/lover one.

And we're shown the middle of that switch, in which Sara is a teenager.

Assuming that Lisa did, indeed, go off and find a dude, and that's his underwear, there's actually a fairly straight-up explanation for it. Lisa's effectively been rejected not once, but twice, in a matter of a couple hours--the second time when she was actively trying to set aside the first. She's looking for some validation, and a quick fling can seem like a good way to go there.

If this is the case, prediction time!

1: Sara gets up, hisses a comment to Lisa about the whole rules/courtesy thing.

2: Lisa (unfairly, but understandably) hisses back in anger, letting Sara know what actually happened at the party.

3: Sara, feeling guilty for not double-checking when Lisa left (you know, those cell phone things the kids have these days would've made it pretty easy), retreats down to her bed, conflicted between concern for Lisa, irritation at the roommate compact being dissed, and the still-subsiding Leahlust. Cue Panel 2.
