Is it possible things are a lot more simple than it appears, namely that Leah is simply jealous of Monica paying attention to Lisa? Not being an aggressive lesbian, or a a lesbian period, may be her overt excuse for kicking Lisa out, but it may simply be that she's upset at Lisa "flirting" with "her" woman.

But that's not what Leah's doing. Her thought process appears to be, "Look at this breeder, obviously trying to join our fraternity when she obviously knows she doesn't belong here. I must push her out the door loudly and humiliatingly so she'll never come here again."

Bhuh? I don't see loud and humiliating. Nothing in panels 3 and 4 suggests "making a scene" to me.

Possible. However, she (Leah) seemed cool with her (Lisa) chatting with her (Monica) up until she (Sara) brought up her (Lisa's) boyfriend. At which point she (Leah) feels an immediate and unresistable urge to usher her (Lisa) out. So, I would say her (Leah's) problems are more with the principle than with her (Lisa) specifically.

If nothing else, we see that Leah started in on her in front of Monica.

Second, one doesn't essentially shove someone out the door without attracting at least some attention. I'm not saying everyone present saw it, but there had to have been at least a few.

It's a funny page, and it's a bit sad seeing how it turned for Lisa.

Is that second panel Lisa's charm look?

Leah seems to be an ass in the end about it instead of trying to talk and get more info to cover the whole situation, asking Lisa directly would be more proper, but it seems she managed to get rid of Lisa quickly without much of a scene.

I wonder who we will follow next Sara who gathered around the ladies will not notice Lisa is gone(I assume it would go like that) or confused Lisa of wtf just happened when she got some pleasant time and she got some connection with one of the girls.

At least I think Monica will have something to say about this to Leah judging from her expression.

o_o; We really need like, a secondary version of "she" for use in sentences like these.

Alice: She really is gorgeous here. Lisa doesn't normally try for "pretty," so it's possible she would be this good-looking all the time if she wanted that. That's actually part of why I like Lisa, though. She clearly doesn't care about beauty standards that much. Makeup and non-crazy hair are for special occasions to her.

Oh, and I know English isn't your first language, so I'm gonna take a second to let you know it's "irresistible" instead of "unresistable." A lot of native English speakers screw words like that up, so don't sweat it too much, we all know what you meant.

To me, what makes Lisa so attractive in that panel isn't just her hair and makeup. It's also her smile and body language: enthusiastic, engaged and open, but in a more natural and unaffected way than we normally see from her. And of course, there's the context of what she's actually talking about: here, Lisa isn't going for "Meme meme meme I'm the meme machine," but rather speaking passionately, matter-of-factly and yet poetically about a piece of music that touches her. And so she touches her listener as well. ♥

Oh jeez, yes. Seeing Lisa actually getting into her interpretations of something she cares about so much (music) is amazing. It seems like she never gets a chance to geek out over it like this. Which makes me even more upset with Leah, 'cause Monica might be the only person on campus interested in listening. D:

My GOD, all this in a single day? o_O;

Also, that's.....a whole lot of venom dripping on your words, Leah. A whole lot.
I understand biphobia, but I reacted with avoidance (and not platonically or sorority-wise as it's shown here! It's a whole different level altogether) not....you know, stinkeye.

I agreed with Lisa's 'chillz' attitude; it's very relaxed and it's definitely a budding sign of her being able to express herself beyond her usual form of hilarious memetastic meme master, and incoming future.

I knew there was something wrong with unresistable! Thank you so very much!

You have a point. I am, however, sticking to my [s]guns[/s] opinion. From what we see, she could've handled the situation much worse.
EDIT:\\ Hmh. Apparently the strike tags don't work here. So imagine, if you please, that the word "guns" is struck over.

My views of this are definitely colored by the school I attend, but I sort of feel Leah's point. My uni has a nearly 75/25 gender ratio, skewed towards women. The running joke is the girls who are BUGs-- Bi Until Graduation, so that they can feel cool and alternative and have someone to make out with on the weekends, but don't have to break up with their long distance boyfriend. Actual bi and lesbian woman I know find it deeply frustrating (much like Daphne with Cyndi back in P&A) to kiss and connect with these girls who at the end of the night reveal that it was just an experiment, or just because they were really drunk. I think that Leah may also be someone who is just so sick of girls who see being bi as something that's trendy and cool and gets you attention. She hears that Lisa has a boyfriend (and Sara doesn't know and therefore doesn't mention that he's probably pretty much ex by now) and maybe not totally unjustifiably concludes that someone with a boyfriend doesn't fall under the "assertive lesbian" label.

Point is one thing. To go and just flat out decide "she's just playing, so she doesn't need to be here" and then bum-rush her out the door like that? That's where it's crossed the line into "*record-scratch* Say WHAAAAT?" territory.

Especially when the attention the girls in question are trying to get is that of males (something I *personally have seen happen many times).

You know, everyone's been jumping to conclusions about Lisa's departure. Leah isn't taking Lisa by the elbow and ushering her out the door. All we see is her showing the charter to Lisa in one panel (and Lisa acting startled as she spies the "assertive lesbian" clause), then we see Lisa standing flummoxed on the doorstep and Leah making sure she's safely all the way out the door.

For all we know, Lisa might have read that, felt really awkward, and slunk out, with Leah just following along to make sure that she was cleared out. It doesn't mean that Leah couldn't have been a bit more diplomatic about the situation, but it might not have been as much of a confrontation as everyone seems to be assuming.

Lisa's body-language is that of one who's confused and doesn't quite know what just happened. Her legs especially give it away. Unless we're all wrong on that one - T?
