Ooh, I really like the art in this one.

I like the last point on the professor's keyword list.

Funny, I studied Descartes's Meditations in my first semester, and I don't remember going all monochromatic and pixellated. ALICE UR DOIN IT WRONG

...you know, every professor I ever had in such fields was almost the opposite extreme. "I'm wrong; be right! Just don't be wrong in any of the ways I know are wronger than my own, which, coincidentally, include every epistemology tailored around reality."

AIEEE!!! THE SCHOOL IS BEING ATTACKED BY KILLER NANOBOTS!!!!! THEY'RE EATING THE CLASSROOM!!!

It will be interesting to see if this is the only time we see any of the cast actually in class during a lecture. A little bit early to guess I suppose.

ON DRUGS

Ahem.

I like the art in this one, and Jason's getting better at the head-tilted-down posture (although I think my favorite part is the picture of Rene Descartes). I also appreciate the "Professor Noton is never wrong" sneaking in there.

I didn't take a philosophy class (although one of my Bio classes got awfully close at times), so I don't really have anything to compare this to.

Professor Noton's look doesn't scream 'philosophy professor' to me. Especially with the white-collared shirt and monochromatic tie, he looks more like a lawyer or investment banker.

The one philosophy professor I knew at all well was either dressed like Prof. Noton (though usually without a blazer) or like he was about to go fishing. (Hat and all.)

If it's the first day of class, he may just want to (or is expected to) make a good impression.

Not all philosophy professors in real life look like the "tweed jacket with elbow patches, mismatched pants, reading glasses on end of nose, and uncombed hair" stereotype.

So Descartes walks into a bar. A prostitute comes up to him and says, "Hey there sailor, lookin' for a good time?"

"I think not!" says Descartes.

And he disappears.

Hey, there's a chance someone here hasn't heard it before.

My ethics professor regularly wore jeans, t-shirt, and a hoodie. I had another philosophy instructor - she wore rubber boots and floral shirts and a giant peace sign necklace.

I studied science and law and I don't remember any professor in any course ever wearing a suit to class, except for Trial Practice & Advocacy where it was kind of a given. The suit did kind of jump out at me too. I concede that maybe this is the sort of college that the faculty DO wear suits as a matter of policy or something.

May I say that I find it VERY ACCURATE that a philosophy lecturer would use a scientific theory in an attempt to bolster the credibility of his windy rhetoric. They do it all the time, to my general irritation.

In love with this page.

Descartes is the one I remember most vividly from my philosophy class my first semester of college, mainly because I strongly disagree with him on several of his points, and that's fun to argue about. I actually just had this debate with a close friend about a week ago. =]

I don't think I've actually stepped in to comment on the new comic yet... It's really getting more interesting, especially with the latest page. Keep up the good work, guys.
