Alice won't let me wait a year to do my share of the thank-you notes. That woman doesn't know the meaning of the word "procrastination." She's always started on her assignments and papers the day she gets them and then just keeps working on them until they're done. It's unnatural, I tells ya! Though it does explain why she's able to come up with all these awesome fics and manips and stuff. (It's rubbed off on me, too, which is why I've been able to find the time for whatever it is I do here.)

Yes, I know you weren't talking about the thank-you notes. I choose to pretend you were. Rule of Funny.

Go ask Alice; I think she'll know.

Speaking of which, thanks so much to all of you for your kind and loving wishes. Am so psyched for Quiltbag! Woo!

The biggest difference is a little piece of paper, but when you hold that piece of paper with your spouse it's a totally emotional moment. :D

Indeed it is, especially when the piece of paper is a document the text of which is in ancient Hebrew and Aramaic, and over 1500 years old (with modifications for same-sex marriage and egalitarianism). It made us feel connected not just to each other, but to our chain of tradition.

[not very well informed about wedding traditions, especially Jewish ones]

Did you have that thing in which you were cuddling under the blanket at the altar?

Whoa! How did I forget the WEDDING OF THE MILLENIUM was this past weekend? Congratulations, you two!
CEOIII: I can't comprehend the idea that having sex with a willing partner is something to feel guilty about because afterwards that person ran like they just woke up with 3 dead coeds in the room.

Zanosuke Kurosaki... sgtrock wins the thread.

Woah…having been to many a Jewish wedding (including my sister's) I am surprised by something.

Where'd you guys get a same-sex ketuba? Then again…I have never been to a religious ceremony for a same-sex couple.

If its not too much to ask, what was modified in your Ketubah and how so? As a queer jew, I'd love to read through one such as yours.

To answer wait...what?'s and FarkUp's question: We did extensive research online (and consulted with the rabbi who officiated), and opted for the open-source text found here, composed in Hebrew/Aramaic and English by Aryeh Cohen, though we had a local calligrapher do it up.
