Confession

Postby Dogberry » Thu Sep 01, 2011 11:08 pm

Finally, I can't ignore this guilty pleasure I've become obsessed with. What has me so enthralled is that Penny and Aggie aren't two lesbians who simply came out, but two PEOPLE who were lucky enough to find their soul mate (as evidenced by the reactions of their friends). They're two fictional characters in a YA comic strip and (true confession) I'm a middle-aged literature teacher, but after “stumbling” upon them, I can't express enough my hope that they are still happy together. It's not real life, but they are two characters I can't let go of.

Haha, support for the P&A relationship has jumped around a lot lately. Some people love them, some people hate them, etc.

But as long as they both turn out happy and healthy, I'm down with it.
People still say "down with," right?

I've been out of high school for three years and am already confused by the dangfangled lingo. D:
Actually, I keep hearing a lot of old-ish slang since moving. I heard someone use "tight" as slang for the first time in years about a week ago. I thought California was supposed to be cool?

That's how I feel about it too, the "can't let go" part. Though not as strongly as I felt at the end of Friendly Hostility. I was more emotionally invested in the main couple of that comic than I'd been in any of my own relationships up to that point. Since then I've had more serious relationships, but I do care deeply about Penny and Aggie, and I will be sad in a very real way if either of them are unhappy, no matter how things worked out for them as a couple.

Thanks for the words of understanding. I'm going through a tough time and projecting my fears onto these characters.
