The Fans' strategy for dealing with Wheaties is looking like an epic fail at the moment, since shooting him repeatedly is obviously doing... not a lot. Actually, their strategy in general is looking like an epic fail, especially now that Bellhop is creeping back in. The only person here vulnerable to shooting is Mechtech, and for some reason they didn't shoot her in the opening stages of the ambush. At least, if that crossbow bolt got her and did damage which Animal can't heal, they've accomplished something here (though the price remains to be seen).

We're only halfway through the fight though. Things seem fairly balanced so far.

It looks to me like things are going fairly well- Di and Blueberry are keeping Animal and Bellhop busy, Rumy is about to do something to Link- but Marc has forgotten the first rule of gunfight etiquette. The husband gets first dibs on diving in front of the bullet.

Re: Link- from today's strip in particular, I'm wondering whether he's supposed to be made of yarn, or something. It'd explain how he's tangling up Rumy, and being knitted would explain the crosshatching effect.

Actually, they should have used a better strategy, like using weapons appropriate to the foe, like what Bax is using on MechTech.

They seem to be trying to make it a fair fight or close contest. Why? They are the Feds. They should have a larger arsenal to play with. This situation would seem to call for the use of disproportional force.

With respect, it's not like they use their third-best weapons because their best weapons just wouldn't be sporting. They do have a bigger variety in their arsenal overall (Shanna cut loose with a rifle of sorts against the Future Fans), but the sidearms are their most versatile tools.
