HAWM artists, whatcha up to?

Sure, John and Erica have talents beyond the ken of us mere mortals, but I reckon many of you guys are creative types too - so, what are you up to at the moment? Any interesting projects on the run? Do you have a website or a deviantart or something?

Let's chat about what we're doing :)

Ah...Is this restricted to the visual arts, or may us amateur writers apply?

OK then.
I've got two major writing projects going on, both of them linked in my signature.
"Saga of Soul" is an urban fantasy/science-fiction story - it takes bits from the "magical girl" anime genre, but with a much more "scientific" approach to the magic. My goal was to create a "Sailor Moon meets Death Note meets Arthur C. Clark" feel to it.
"Where I Watch: My Little Pony" began as an attempt to let people see the original MLP cartoon from the 80s through my eyes, emphasizing how very, very different it was from how people tend to imagine it. Then the new, (deservedly) ultra-popular cartoon came out, and I started reviewing its individual episodes too, and that evolved into a semi-parodic take on on the show, kinda-sorta in the veins of Abridged Series (...or, more accurately, in the vein of ShadowJack Watches Sailor Moon).

Cool.

I'm spending far too much of my time playing Skyrim, which in turn has in turn taken over my cartooning for the while. I got some bristol board and some nice colour pencils for christmas, so I've been playing.

As sun tzu knows, I write Penny and Aggie/QUILTBAG fanfic on a regular basis, mostly cracky (and lately in collaboration with others), but also serious fics. That's my main creative outlet at the moment. If nothing else, it satisfies my need to write something every day, and seems to make my fellow P&A fans happy.

That it does, Mrs. Macher. That it does.

After years coming up with excuses to delay it even more, I have finally updated my DeviantArt page.

It's still very small and does not contain the majority of my work because 1) I'm reluctant to post my original pencil drawings on the internet, where people can steal the artwork and my totally great and orginal ideas, 2) I intend to color most of my drawings in photoshop before and 3) I'm shy. Really really shy. But I have already slapped myself into the realization that if I intend to work with art I better expose mine, so...

Here's my page: nielemzk.deviantart.com

It's not exactly a project yet but I have a fantasy setting that has grown into a complex and vast scenario after years of improvement (aka. procrastination + roleplaying games). Most of my artwork is about character and stories that exists in this setting. I intend to start a webcomic based in it as soon as my work, study and confidence allows.

Okay, there's some pretty incredible images there...

For me, it's March - which means a reprisal of my Art Project: March. The aim is to draw one picture per day for an entire month. At the moment I'm slightly behind.

So far, the thing I've liked best that I did was this:

I don't think anyone actually seems to check these forums, but anyhow. I drew a neat little 24H comic over the weekend, that you can grab here:

I'm still fairly sure that nobody reads the forums, but hey.

24HCD this year sits on top of a LARP event I want to go to, so me and mine did it over last weekend instead. I decided that this time I wanted to work a little on drawing scenery and backgrounds, so I designed a story which would have some nice locations in it - at the expense of any real character interaction or plot.

You can see it here.

I check the Tea Room every day. If I see someone has posted in the Guilded Age forum, I go there.
Unfortunately, commentable pages mean forums get neglected. :(
