Finally some background on the other cuckoos. Although I'm still uncertain as to whether Ult was one of them or like Soulson someone who has a prior acquaintance with the people of Earth.

I'm also worried about one of the outcomes that might be with Will's survival and that is someone else's death or possession. In this case Shanna.

That makes sense too. I was thinking they were doing this since it's not like they had anything else to do now that their home planet is gone.

Because the Cuckoos need to represent a species/civilization/planet in order to be accepted for membership into the Community.
