Takin' a break.

Postby Valerie » Tue Jan 08, 2013 10:55 pm

Uhh, sorry to create a new topic, but this doesn't really seem to fit in any of the other threads.

I'm taking a break from the internet. There's a lot of stress that's catching up to me lately, and I think I need to stay away from a few things that the internet gives me (mostly Facebook) so that I don't snap and take a gun to work or something.

(Well, not that I even own a gun, but whatever. I work in a restaurant, there are knives, you get me.)

So, with any luck, the next few days/weeks will be full of reading and cuddles.

I've also got a job interview for a pharmacy tech position at Kroger tomorrow, so wish me luck with that. If I get it, I will have two jobs, because they're looking for evening and weekend shifts, and it's only 8-to-20 hours a week that they want filled, so that's not enough by itself. But hey, picking up a few hours at a job that actually pays money could be decent. And it's even a job where customers might not be pricks so often! Still gonna be lots of running around on my feet though, probably, but maybe I'll at least get breaks.

Anyway, so uh, that's what's up with me. Lovelovelove.

Good luck and enjoy your time. Remember that you could just visit certain places if some of them reduce your stress

Thanks for all the well-wishes, guys. <3

After a few days of no-internet/very-limited internet, I think I've decided to severely cut back on my internetting. I'll still be around, but I'm gonna have to put some kind of restrictions on myself so I don't spend my whole life on here like I'm used to doing. I was just a lot less stressed without the internet (though it really was mostly Facebook, I think). I've weeded out my FB feed a bit, so hopefully nothing too distressing will be there now.

My Kroger interview went well, I think. She said I should hear something back in a few days after they've interviewed everyone. I've also put in an application to be a library clerk, so that might happen.

Anyway, um, I guess I'm back, for whatever value that might have in this context.

In short, I fail at hiatuses. :P

It's a good idea to do some periodic FB feed pruning to keep yourself sane.

*hugs* Good to have you back, kid.

I only started using facebook for games with my brother, which I've since stopped playing ;)
Now I pretty much just use it for messaging him and his wife ;) Although I did start following a few places, but most of the cool things I follow like ThinkGeek I follow more on Google+ ;)

I actually quit playing the facebook stuff about the time I needed some breaks from, well, everything too, and it helped a little :)
Glad you're feeling better *hugs*

Welcome back, Val :)
weeding out FB feed is good. And I think less time on internetting is quite healthy :D
Glad you're feeling better and I hope you'll continue on feeling better :)
