Dillon of Ma3 gets a spin-off

Postby Alice Macher » Mon Jan 07, 2013 10:23 pm

Sticky Dilly Buns launched today.

Not crazy about the title, but I do very much like Dillon, and he's been seldom seen in Mà3 for some time. So I figured I'd post this here, because with him as the lead, the comic looks to be of particular interest for a gay male readership. (And for other readers as well, to be sure. But there's no question the focus is a new one for the "Gisele" section of the Pixie Trix Comics empire.) Best of luck to you, Gis and co-writer/co-artist Shouri! ♥

I can hardly wait for more characterization on Dillon. :3

Same here. We've had tantalizing hints of it, like here for example, but as Gisele herself says in the newly-created forum for the comic, "In Ma3, Dillon's main purpose is to get in Gary's way. In his own comic, he'll be allowed to grow."

Never read Ma3, but I'm intrigued. Nice to have a new comic.

I'm surprised they launched a new comic so early - I mean, Dangerously Chloe still feels like it's in its introductory phase.

It seems that with the Dillon comic they're going for a different audience than the EC/MC/DC universe has with its supernatural focus and high school setting with the usual boy/girl and girl/girl romance elements found in that setting. Sticky Dilly Buns, in contrast, is part of the Ma3 universe, and so wouldn't have the supernatural elements, and would be more adult in setting, and more guy/guy romance/sexcapades. (In that latter respect, they'd seem to be going for a different audience than the Ma3 one, as well. One that's less...shall we say, focused on "When is Gary gonna get laid again?" and more on "Hey, what happened to Dillon? Is he ever gonna get a guy after Matt? What about his acting career?" and such.

Well, there's this too...

T edits all the scripts.

Giz & Dave do Ma3
Giz & Dave & Shouri do EC
Dave & Cassandra do MC and DC
Giz and Shouri do SDB
Shouri does Fragile & Springiette (which seems to be on hiatus).

So, T is editing five, Giz is working on 3, Dave on 3, Shouri on 3 (4), and Cass on 2 :)

Next spinoff should be illustrated by Jason :p

Hrm. Dill and Fontina Cheese, that'd probably be a nice alternate filling for rolled-type buns, in place of cinnamon and sugar. Wouldn't be too sticky, but it'd go well with soup. New England Chowder, perhaps. Corn, fish, clam, all would work.
