Doesn’t ring a bell (no possible pun intended), but that is helpful.

The song itself was for a Hurricane Katrina benefit, and the thrust of the song is in the chorus - when the banks fail, it's expected that we'll be there to bail them out, but when your levees break, ... well ...

I got that. I like how the song links the 1720 Louisiana land bubble both to the recent bank failures (by the nature of the event) and to Katrina (by location).

I’m most curious about the following lines, it seems that someone living closer to New Orleans is supposed to understand them:

Now Christ down on the street with his trombone
And even though the 12 year olds have got it in their bones
Above these 20 blocks no one's alone
Artemisia: if we cannot sympathize or understand then all we claim to be as human beings is just marsh gas
Valerie: Lia knows how to turn that frown upside-down. :D

So, I was singing this song in my head earlier today and really started listening to the lyrics. I couldn't help but cry, and now looking at them again it started all over. Basically it seems like I'm at the opposite point from what the song is describing and I kind of wish it was better like that.

My Wish
I hope that the days come easy and the moments pass slow,
And each road leads you where you want to go,
And if you're faced with a choice, and you have to choose,
I hope you choose the one that means the most to you.
And if one door opens to another door closed,
I hope you keep on walkin' till you find the window,
If it's cold outside, show the world the warmth of your smile,

But more than anything, more than anything,
My wish, for you, is that this life becomes all that you want it to,
Your dreams stay big, and your worries stay small,
You never need to carry more than you can hold,
And while you're out there getting where you're getting to,
I hope you know somebody loves you, and wants the same things too,
Yeah, this, is my wish.

I hope you never look back, but ya never forget,
All the ones who love you, in the place you left,
I hope you always forgive, and you never regret,
And you help somebody every chance you get,
Oh, you find God's grace, in every mistake,
And you always give more than you take.

But more than anything, yeah, and more than anything,
My wish, for you, is that this life becomes all that you want it to,
Your dreams stay big, and your worries stay small,
You never need to carry more than you can hold,
And while you're out there getting where you're getting to,
I hope you know somebody loves you, and wants the same things too,
Yeah, this, is my wish.

This is my wish
I hope you know somebody loves you
May all your dreams stay big
