I think that she knew that she was gay for a long-ish time - you know that sort of thing, right? - and now she's just past deluding herself. Or something. Thus, if she is sure she's gay, I'd assume that she really is. I mean... who could tell whether she is or not if not *herself*?

Of course, there's the fact that gay<--->straight is a pretty wide spectrum and I do not really believe in people being 100% one way or another... but for simplicity's sake, I think Sara is "gay or close enough to it".

I don't think people "know that sort of thing" right away. I spent my middle school years convinced I was a lesbian, only to discover in high school that I was, in Bones' words, "hetero as a horse." Sometimes, though, parents figure it out long before their kids do. My mom said she knew very early on that my sister was gay, and I've heard that from another parent of a gay child.

Well there's that and that when she looks at magazines featuring "hunky" men she finds herself fantasising about an underdressed Lindsay Lohan, and she was turned on by Lisa's little love pat on the nose. Not to mention she's found herself attracted to Meg and Lisa in the past.

Still say it would have been funnier if the dialog were reversed.

Not to rain on anyone parade, but it is still possible she is not actually gay, I mean what are her proofs? That she is sexually confused (a teenager confused? Oh, well, yeah, just on that evidence, it's not all too convincing. Over the course of the storyline, though, there's been multiple hints that Sara is a little more than confused: projecting her feelings onto the Penny and Aggie situation, fantasizing about Lyndsay Lohan, and generally showing a cool attitude towards the idea of dating men in general. Now, okay, if the series was to further twist, and it was to turn out that Sara eventually goes out with a guy, anyway, well, I guess I could except that. There's been tons of build-up to the idea that Sara's gay, however, and this strip fits in too well to be disregarded as less than an epiphany on her part.

You guys have to remember that this is a teen comic, not reality, and therefore this is as good a proof as any that she is gay.

Either way, she thinks she's gay, and that's that. It'll be interesting to see how things go from here, regardless of her sexuality.

No, of course it's not reality, but it's a very convincing story, and we're all fans, here. A lot of people are going to try and speculate on any plot line or motive that seems the least bit possible. That's the nature of fandom.

Cool. I kind of like that idea. I'm not sure if it entirely fits Marshall, but well, you never know.

I actually have ended up writing a short fic. It's got a bit of polishing needed, but if people are interested I'll be happy to either link to it or post it here on the boards when it's done. :)

Yeah, all right! That sounds good! Go ahead and send it my way.

I would LOVE to see some fanfic.

No, this is a T's comic, and with T you can never be sure of anything :).

I think this is the comic that made people think Sara is attracted to Lisa and Meg, but to me it just looks like she's worried they're looking at her and judging her.

It appears that way to me as well.
