[4 June 12] Find a Theo already!

Postby Doc Harleen » Sun Jun 03, 2012 9:04 pm

Oh man, this has been an interesting plot line. Seeing it link back to Sara, too... What important piece of information has just occurred to her?

EDIT: Derp. Obviously the fact that her folks are visiting. I'm a dummy, but I've had an exhausting time as of late.

X3 High School Physics Quiz. Lol.

And I sorta don't like Iseul that much still. She can't just be her daughter's rock not make her be straight. DX

Yay, Lisa's happy again! I wonder if Sara or Temperance noticed she was uncomfortable and re-included her, or if it just happened naturally as they all got up from the table. Not that it's that important in the overall story.

Elizabeth's expression in the third panel is well done. I'm sure we can tell what sort of things she's thinking.

Aw, the color went away. It was starting to spread all over the scene with Iseul and Lizzie, and it went away the moment Iseul got insistent about hiding teh ghey.

Interesting that she considers Theo as her safe-place. (Note that she said a Theo, not a man.) She gets a couple points back, but I still don't like her.

Ah, thank you for clearing that up, Val. Alice and I were stumped as to the significance of the multicoloured orb in the first panel. Probably because we were thinking in terms of Iseul's hand getting flushed with colour in the previous strip.

It really is a shame that the one potential positive byproduct of Iseul's affair with Elizabeth--namely, learning from her to be more accepting of Sara's sexual orientation--doesn't seem to have come about yet, after all this time.

Go ask Alice; I think she'll know.

I don't see what Sara has to be concerned about since she doesn't have a girlfriend for her mother to disapprove and I think Temperance has a good idea who they are so she should know what to expect.

No, but it's probably going to lead to trouble and/or drama down the line. Remember, Temp saw it as "first date." As far as we know, Sara saw it as "lunch with roommate and dormmate." Which might lead to Temperance getting all upset that Sara doesn't introduce her as her girlfriend... (although that's a bit cliche, so I'm probably wrong and T will have fun pulling the rug out from under me on that. Until he does, I'm standing by my theory of "Sara is going to be blindsided by this.")

I think it's more that, as much as she loves her mom and vice versa, in-person encounters with her tend to be stressful. Remember that in the second strip, Sara reflects on how Iseul manages to work in a dig at her sexual orientation in every conversation. So even without the Temperance factor (which isn't yet a factor), Sara's probably dreading yet another, "Sooo...met any nice boys?"

At the very least, Sara is going to have to put up with Iseul's constant nagging. If Iseul notices how many QUILTBAG friends Sara has, they might get an earful too (wouldn't it be weird if Iseul was banned from campus for harrassing students?). She may even try to set up Sara with a nice boy who has zero interest in Sara... (or worse, lots of interest).

You just gave me the most amusing (and cringe-inducing, considering what we know of the poor guy) mental image: Iseul, trying to get Ronnie to ask Sara out. I'm not sure if hilarity, or mass chaos, would then ensue.

If that was a group of men pulling that face in panel 5, I'd assume that Sara had just squirrel-gripped them both. Did she just punch them both in the gut or something? It's kind of a weird thing to do. She could have just said "wait!"
