She should have complained about the rule being silly *from the beginning*

Freemage, do you have a fanclub yet, and can I please join?

Maybe she should have. OTOH, she should've never been put in the position of making that choice, either.

As usual.

I've never followed them, but that's what I've gathered from news bits in recent years, such as the Miss America pageant, once "the thing to watch" once a year, being reworked into a "reality show" in order to gain more viewers.

Both of you are right, IMO. It's stupid that she lied, and it's stupid that she had to.

When should it not matter how you were born in terms of physical parts, and when should it not? I don't think for beauty pageants that it should matter (putting aside my distaste for them in general), so in this case, i agree, she should not have had to lie. But what if you were born male, then had sex reassignment surgery and wanted to compete in the Olympics as a female? Male marathoners are faster than female marathoners, holding constant the level of talent and natural ability. So in that case, an MtF trans individual might conceivably have an advantage over the other female runners. I'm just wondering what people think about that situation. I know that's not the case that's in the news, but it got me thinking about it.

Also, YOU ARE GOING TO BE THE BEST PHARMACIST.
But what about men makes them better runners? In theory, the different hormone balance - which after reassignment surgery would likely be artificially controlled, which could in theory remove the superiority. Then again, this is all blatant guessing from me - I'm not aware of any studies on the physical prowess of trans persons as compared to cis, and I have only cursory knowledge of sex reassignment.
