Also! I've heard Tara Strong more recently than I realized. She also did Rikku in the FFX games, and I played both of those.

You would be hard pressed to find anything voice-related aimed at kids and teens that she wasn't in, heck she has been one of the backbones of Cartoon Network for a better part of a decade! :D

Come to the ponies, it's not as bad as it seems- it is actually funny at times! :D

I'm more likely to come to the ponies than I ever would say, The Hunger Games. I might even go check it out this weekend, if someone provides me a (free - I'm broke) source by which to watch it. :D

LadyO : Hope your day has gotten better, at least?

Youtube, my friend. Just find yourself and episode list and start putting in the titles in search.

*Confession: It's mostly from a very bad experience with a "church" from when I was a teenager. This "church" didn't encourage thinking for oneself, and to just listen to what the "pastor" told you, there's a good little sheep... Ever since then, I've had a huge aversion to both the "fire and brimstone" religious types, and to anyone trying to get me into doing something I haven't yet decided for myself if I want to do it. I'm only okay here because I know you're joking.

Ditto, for example, I still haven't seen Fight Club. Mine was a real church though, First Baptist to be exact. I think they're the penultimate fire and brimstone type. A former roommate of mine in CA got suckered in by Nikkin, which is just Amway by another name. He put me on the phone with the regional manager to try to get me into it and after the song and dance I was like "So you're a cult leader, what's that like?"

Sadly they'd already used the poison the well tactic on my roommate, "Your family and friends will try to talk you out of this, don't listen to them because they're not willing to take RISKS to WIN." and I'm not that good with people in the first place surprise and I watched helplessly as he bought $5000 worth of magnetic heal your arthritis mumbo-jumbo and other junk on a warehouse "deal".

My bad thing for today is my wife is out of painkillers again, as she is every month, and I drove her home as she curled up in the back seat begging for me to take her to the ER the whole ride home from getting her glasses replaced because she broke them (she wouldn't have been out of the house otherwise) She ate something, which set all of her stomach stuff off.

Which is pointless, most of her veins are so collapsed it takes them three hours to get an IV into her foot, neck, between toes, whatever.

Then there are the risks, last time I picked up whooping cough, one of these days she's going to get necrotizing fasciitis or something. She's had an IV infection or two, and takes Phenergan by IV when she's there...

Then there are the constant medical bills for nothing.

She's started to hit the alchohol and cigs again even though I've been leaning on the brake as hard as I can the whole time. It's my fault for being a bit high with her when she was high in the beginning of the month before she ran out this month, so we could be happy for a couple of weeks.

(And I don't mean high in a drug use sense, she takes them to get out of pain, not to get high. I mean spiritually. Also I'm an atheist, har har. Well in her case...in my case I was drinking.)

I don't want my back to be her broadly paved road to Hell, but I can't abandon her either. The pain doc won't up her painkiller prescription leaving the other option the pump to implant into her...which I won't be a part of...she said the trial didn't do much anyway.

Don't fight the ponies, Otaking. You can't win.

I've resisted them successfully since 1982. 8)

Just so you know--the two editions are very different things.

Had an Ex who was into the first iteration. That was such a horrible experience it left me VERY resistant to joining the second wave. However, there's no denying it--it's a genuinely awesome show.

Two editions? There's been far more than just that. :P
G1 ponies: Fantasy adventures in a world that was taking its cues from D&D. Pretty good...by the standards of 80s cartoons. So, if you can watch G1 G.I.Joe and Transformers without gagging, it's worth a look.
My Little Pony Tales (sometimes mistakenly called G2, but that's another story): Slice-of-life tween sitcom with characters drawn as ponies despite being completely human in every other respect. Not horrible, but dead-average.
G3 ponies: Horrifically-written, diabetes-inducing tripe. Seriously, that shit was bad.
G3.5 ponies: Same as the above, but chibi-fied. Sometimes considered even worse.
G4 ponies: Proof that God, aka Lauren Faust, loves us and wants us to be happy.

nobutsrsly, I haven't hit anyone in a non-playful way in years now. But I'm teensy and have scared people larger than me.

So, in a sensible scale, you're about 165cm and 45kg? (please tell me I'm right, I want to think I'm finally starting to understand the [imperial?] system) Heh, more or less funny story: I was at a mall once, when I saw a security guy trying to constrain a girl a bit smaller than you are (maybe 160/40? I dunno, I suck at telling people's heights and weights). By the time the girl almost got his eye with her nails, I got involved. The security guy was about my size, and I'm 6'/ 225 pounds, and even then we had hard time trying to keep her in check. (When we got her at the ground, it became easier, especially since she stopped thrashing for some reason.) Apart from the usual lesson how most people didn't bother to help, I learned that even small people can be scary when they flip their shit. (from what I heard, she wasn't even drugged. She just... flipped out for some reason.

Let me make sure we're all experiencing the same thing:
I load up a page, and if I want the whole thing to load these days - I have to let the video keep playing. It no longer can be simply paused while the whole thing loads, like it used to. If it does such a thing, it's pretty rare, and the new standard procedure seems to be "will only load more of the video if the video is playing." Sound like the same thing you're both running into?

I have a theory: They've implemented this to reduce bandwidth usage. So people won't just load up say, 20 videos at once, pause 'em all, and then come back when they should all be loaded. And while it's something I'm not utterly thrilled with, I can see why it's a good idea for Youtube.

The most annoying thing is when (as it's doing now) the rest of the video doesn't load up fast enough so you keep having to stop for the buffer.

The best way that I've found to manage YouTube is to use FlashGot (add-on for Firefox) to download the videos, and VLC to play them. Works wonderfully well. :-)
