Prepare for whininess over silly things!
My birthday presents, aside from the air conditioner Dad got us, were pretty bleh, but that's just par for the course (and mostly just me being a spoiled, entitled brat). My grandma gave me a necklace that I told her a few days ago I didn't really like, but she also gave me a check for $35 that I can deposit on the first. My mom gave me a body lotion set (because I'm a girl and should like lotion, I guess, even though I have never once asked anyone for lotion) and a bunch of coupons, despite the fact that I never have time to coupon anymore, but a few of them were decent. She did get me a shirt that I kind of like. But presents from Mom feel a little bittersweet, anyway, for reasons that have been explained many times.
The problem is that I'm not actually that close to most of the people that feel obligated to get me presents, so they have zero idea what I like, or give me things that they think I might have liked when I was like 14. Like, that shirt Mom got me this year, I would have loved the
fuck out of that about seven years ago. Now it's just kind of cool and will probably be a pain to wash.
...Seriously, why do people give girls lotion and body wash and stuff as
presents? Do we smell bad? =/
I made a joke one year at Christmas because I had gotten a lot of feminine things as presents. I was implying that people gave us (my cousin and me) body wash/lotion because we were dirty, makeup to cover our ugly faces, and jewelry to take attention away from the face because the makeup didn't work.

I didn't get any of those things for a couple years after that. Maybe I should make that joke again.
But hey, $35. That will offset the cost of buying my little sister's present (her birthday was the day before mine; she turned 13) and still give me... $3. Which I spent on that shake I bought earlier. So at least I broke even. XD
Maybe I can sell the necklace and lotion set...
