Your brother is a jerk.
Also, when he starts pointing out your messes, you say, "Oh,okay," and clean up your messes. Then you tell him to put on his big boy pants and clean his messes in his house to impresshis friends that are coming over for his party.

As for mine, today and yesterday were crazybusy days at work. Which means a few things:

1. I have to work my ass off to do my job, then go help other people with their jobs.
2. My tip jar is very hungry (because people don't like waiting in long lines and don't feel like tipping when they get to the register because waiting = not as good a mood as usual).
3. I have to smile. At the customers. Who are the entire reason that I'm stressed and not making jack in tips.

On the bright side, as of tomorrow, I will have a total of four hours' overtime.

Artemisia wrote:Thank you, Konaa. I am working on becoming a professional writer. I mean, I write for my blog all the time, but I'm working on becoming a professional fiction writer. Right now, I'm writing a story about a young girl who is struggling with issues of sexuality and racism in her life. Her father was obsessed with his career and divorced his wife over the fact that his daughter is lesbian and that was a problem at his law firm. Her mother is constantly pushing her to be straight.

My writing is important to me.

I remember freaking out about telling my mother about being a lesbian and transsexual. I talked to my grandmother, aunt, and cousin. The two of us had a long talk. I'm still working on stabilizing my identity. I'm realizing that I'll probably never be fully comfortable around men, but that is how my life is going to be.

Sounds interesting. Tell me when your book gets published, I'll be sure to pick up a copy.
(I want to be an author too, just so you know.)

I'm not sure what else to say, so I'll be quick: Good luck with finding your place. I hope you do overcome your discomfort and work everything out.

*hugs everyone* I hope everyone's day will be better.

CJ, I'm with Val. your brother is being a jerk. Thank goodness for your boyfriend, though-- he mean well. I might advice you to occasionally let him pipe in-- that is, if BF and your brother is in a cordial relationship. And I'm so sorry that you didn't get the job. *hugs*

sun tzu, have you got yourself checked? back pain is annoying at least D:
NobodySpecial; I..would suggest compressing it. *pets leg*
Zanosuke : *hugs* I'm one of those stupid drivers. I'm sorry for you and/or a lot of people that were inconvenienced by my driving. *hugs* And D: for bad ankle.

How is it going now, you guys? Have you been doing better?

Captain LeBubbles; Youtube comments are asinine. SOBS. It's pretty much...AUGH. Why does it feels like a LOT of people are being stupid in youtube, and just WHO ARE THEY AAAAAAAAAAAA /rant Granted, Youtube Commenter #2 is more..acceptable, but yeah, women are supposed to be themselves-- nay, people.

Doc Harleen : deep breathes. Everything's going to be fine.

Val : eugh. Ugly customers. D: I hope work's going to be easier.

Haven't yet. I'll admit, at this point I'm still hoping for it to go away, but if it doesn't...(It seems likely that the bicycle somehow caused it - I used the bike to get to work yesterday, and a few hours later, the pain got way worse. This morning, I actually had trouble getting out of bed - I was fine while I was sleeping, but moving hurt.)

Trefle: thanks for being so encouraging. :)

My boyfriend and I are moving into our apartment, and it's stressful. It's his first place EVER so I've been telling him things that he needs to get done while doing what I can to get things done (mostly shopping and cleaning) and setting things up.

I just don't want him to get involved with family fights since we've been dating only two months. And I know it's way fast to be moving in together, but we're treating it like his place, I'm not on the lease, and I needed to get out of my brother's house.

I'm mega worried that I'm starting to nag him, though, because I'm telling him all these things he needs to get done (tell the maintenance people about the hole that suddenly appeared in the wall and the bathtub dripping, getting renter's insurance, etc.). He says that I'm not nagging him, but he IS worried about me stressing out too much because I'm a "run around and get everything done ASAP" kind of person.

Currently am waiting for the cable guy, who's late. >.< And I've got errands to run. -.-

It might help to use paper to keep track of things that need to be done, preferably one thing/goal per sheet (so you always have room for notes, unexpected substeps, etc), and keep sheets sorted by context (eg where something needs to be done, at what time, with who, etc, whatever helps to do multiple things right after each other). Since your boyfriend is doing most of the doing (?), put him in charge of the sorting (of course you may want to make yourself available to help). It will feel more like his own planning and less like getting told what to do. Agree on a single place where both of you can dump notes of things that need to be done whenever you think of them, so you won't have to "nag" by interrupting him while he's taking a moment to rest or is busy doing something else.

I know moving part of your communication to notes may feel weird, but it removes the stress of having to remember stressful things until you get a chance to tell them to each other (and also the stress of "damn! I can't remember what I needed to tell"). Also, it gives you more non-naggy time together.

I could recommend the book from which I learned more things like the above, but I don't think you have time to read it right now ^^ . In any case, good luck, and I'm sure everything will be great once the place is ready!

My own bad day thing: after seeing one of my therapists (the one who will have to give her OK to my sex change and such) I always feel like having argued for an hour and then having been stopped in the middle of a sentence with a "see you next month!". D:

Just when I think Professor Am-Lit is getting better about things...

Bubbles: *mid explanation for why the Taj Mahal is being used as a romantic symbol in the story we're reading* -for his favorite wife-
Professor: *interrupts* A-ha, his favorite wife! *goes on to make his own point*
Bubbles: *thinking* WHY DID YOU ASK IF YOU DIDN'T WANT ME TO ACTUALLY ANSWER? STOP TELLING ME HOW TO INTERPRET THINGS THAT YOU TELL US TO DRAW OUR OWN INTERPRETATIONS FROM.

Also, we were discussing pornography in my Am-Gov class and what sort of restrictions should be made on it. I genuinely thought that he was referring to the thing with anal fisting that I read about a while back and asked. He'd never even heard of it. It took him ten minutes to get the class back on track, I was so embarassed.

You should feel proud. . .while showing up your professors can cause problems, sometimes, it's good to let them know that they don't know everything.

Getting Things Done, by David Allen. Doesn't work for everyone and you sometimes have to translate from the very busy rich person perspective to your own, but, useful stuff. Also, it is no match for my powers of procrastination :P .
