*hugs Zano back* I think she's going to do alright. She had water, is relaxed and hasn't been freaking out. I believe she's gonna make it and will be alright.

I know one thing though. DX Trevor's never getting his hands on any painkiller while he's here. I don't want him to drop another friggin' pill that he won't pick up and let one of our pets eat.

He's very lucky Ephany's doing fine and very lucky she's not dead.

Arte: Thank goodness that kitty's okay. At least now he realizes that outside is no fun for a cat.

@#$@# do I know about this. I was constantly picking up heavy duty narcotic pain pops strewn around...left open in her purse on a couch or somewhere else foolish..one lick would easily kill a dog. Protecting my ex's pug from her own addicted zombie ass. The two worst incidents were some really low quality chocolate (and so low theobrime levels) and a brick of rat poison that I foolishly placed low and didn't realize the dog (unwatched by her standing right next to it when she knew exactly what I was doing) would be shooting into the shed to grab it five seconds after I put it down and turned my back. A flying ground tackle (she was fast when playing "Hey look what I've got, wanna chase me?") and ripping it out of her mouth, then disposing of all the bricks and 200 dollar vet visits in both incidents took care of those though.

"I didn't love the dog" was still on my list of crimes in the end anyway though.

Zano : are you playing FF7? Also, aww :(
I guess it'd be too late to make a backup save data, no?

I woke up at 4 AM. I'm working from 7:30 AM to 4 PM, then 5 PM to 10:30 PM.
I am so tired, but I can't sleep. I just wake up thinking about things. Like Dad being an idiot and Mom being an idiot and Mammaw being an idiot and all the stuff with Sexist Moron at work (who will be fired Monday afternoon but the damage is already done) and a hundred other things. And how I have no idea when my next day off might be. And I'm so tired, in general. And I'm so sleepy. My vision's blurry because I'm still not actually awake, and I think today is going to be one of the days where I just don't wake up fully.

I'm sleepy, my head hurts, and I'm hungry.
I have leftovers from work, so I can at least try to take care of that last one for once.

We had a scare today. One of our cats was out and nearly got hit by a car. He got very scared and isn't going out ever again.

Ew. We just went through something similar--one of our cats snuck out and stayed out for about 24 hours (sending the wife and I into a near panic) before coming home with a small limp. He was doing better the next morning, we took him to the vet, who said he'd probably just pulled a muscle climbing under something or jumping down from someplace; he also had to get a proper bath from them while he was there, and was NOT happy about that. Since then, we've fixed the latch on the back door to the apartment.

And he still goes sniffing around the door when the inner one is open, trying to get out again. So, yeah, don't assume the scare is going to be enough to make yours smart enough not to pull a similar stunt in the future.

LadyO: Glad to hear your cat's feeling better; keep an eye on her for the next couple days, just to be safe. Hopefully, the pill just passes through without getting fully digested.

You guys make me glad I've got a dog who's lived outside his entire life and knows how not to get killed. I don't know what I'd do if Burrito got hurt (and I don't know what he'd do if I tried to keep him confined).

(Also glad I live out in the middle of nowhere so it's not a problem.)

(And that tortoises are not prone to wandering.)

He's fine. However, we're making sure he doesn't go out any more. He's actually my aunt's cat, and was a stray at one time.

I had some other things I wanted to say, but right now, I forget what they were.

Dogs generally need at least some space--even small ones tend to need time outdoors. Cats can be quite happy in an apartment, if they've got places to creep and other places to climb.

That is why I'm glad I have a dog and a big yard. (Well, that and because dogs are vastly superior to cats anyway.)

My cat is agoraphobic. She hates even to leave my room. And she's very clingy. She hates it when mommy leaves for more than a few hours.

Cats can save you from the Plague . . .and mummies.

Incidentally, I have a lot of cats and one dog.
