Advice from someone (me!) who has some difficulties reading body language: flirt at her, a bit more obvious every time, using not only body language but also using words. If she is flirting at you, she is likely to follow that example, and if she isn't flirting yet but likes your flirting, well, same result :D .

One thing to keep in mind though is that some people will flirt for fun with people they're "obviously" incompatible with (not because they're evil but because it's risky to flirt for fun with someone who will want to date them). For example, women much older than me who flirt at me tend to be married or unwilling to date for some other reason.

Yesterday, while shopping online for other, mostly much cheaper things, I noticed a very pretty dress. I wasn't even shopping for dresses. It was sold out in my size, but the shop helpfully offered to send me an email when/if it would become available again. I didn't expect they'd send that email today. When I read it (about half an hour after it was sent) there were three left. And then, because of me, two (It's mine. Miiiiiine. MINE! SQEEEEEE!). Less than an hour later, out of curiosity I look again. Sold out in my size again. Hey, shop, Y U NO ORDER MORE DRESSES AT A TIME?

Anyway, the point is, if anyone expresses doubts about me having the mind of a girl again, I'm going to laugh.

(edit to add: because I spontaneously act the stereotype. I don't actually believe one can't be a woman if one doesn't give a **** about pretty clothes)

Thank you for the advice. I'm not sure how this will play out in the end, but it still feels so lovely to flirt.

Oh, and I understand about the clothes. I was so excited when I got new skirts recently :D

Today I got my first look at my college's new building. (Quick digression: my school used to be Tarleton, a 2-year upper level that was the companion to the local community college. Then a couple of years back, A&M took it and now it's Texas A&M University Central Texas, but up until the up-coming summer semester, it's still been in the old Tarleton buildings. This year, the new, 4 story building was finally finished and TAMUCT moved into it, while CTC gets the old buildings.) I loved it. I am going to be quite happy to be going to my class(would be "es" but I finally managed to wrangle an online course into my schedule at this school) this fall. We have our own bookstore now (which is great, because it's bad enough having to hit the CTC one just for classes at that school. x.x) There's even a snackbar with a small cafeteria. And on each end of the building, on floors two through four, there are small student lounge spaces with comfy chairs, small end tables, and two tables that sit at the windows with a pretty nice view of the surrounding area. Heck, when I take my paperwork back in a day or two (oh, yeah, I was there to get all the financial aid papers I would need, too), I am definitely taking pictures to share. The new building is gorgeous.

I also got the chance to spend some time with a friend who I haven't seen for a good 4+ years now. He helped me with some notes for my G.I. Joe RPG idea, and I got ice cream! (that he paid for, since he's military and I'm a college student [read: always broke, until done with degree. the two are synonymous :P])

So this isn't my happy thing, this is (sort of) an associate's happy thing, but it just completely blew my mind and I wanted to share:

I have an associate (someone I went to college with back in the day) who, for reasons I do not know, was kicked out by zer spouse and is totally SOL. Ze is currently a grad student and zer spouse was probably zer main source of income, and is now going to have a lot of trouble paying for health insurance, etc.

So ze did a very brave thing--asked on facebook for any financial assistance from friends (zer family never forgave zer for being queer). Just a little bit, whatever they could manage, and ze would either pay them back when possible or pay it forward as a donation when the money was re-earned.

That was yesterday afternoon. By last night, ze earned $1,500 in donations, three times what ze needed. (No, this was not a scam, someone did not hack into the account and gave the plea, it was definitely real.)

Anyways, it's really amazing how much people can collectively affect a life in such a positive way.

And maybe it's selfish of me, but I wonder--if I was ever that royally screwed, would I receive anywhere close to that much assistance? (I mentioned this to my brother, and he said that if I needed $1000, he would just write me a check, but that's not exactly the point. Which he understands. And I hope to never have to find out the answer to that question anyways.)

So, anyways, there's a cool thing.

I have the coolest mom EVER.

We went into the Game Xchange (think GameStop, but instead of stopping at just the currently supported stuff, they go all the way back to Atari era merchandise), as I have had Skyward Sword but no WiiMotion+ stuff to play it with, ever since Christmas, right?

They sell anime. And they had three of the four Trigun discs I've been needing for a few years now to finish up my set. YAY! #1. They're only $5 each. YAY! #2

They also had a game that I have only ever played the demo for. Yet that demo, despite being only one track long, was good enough I found myself sometimes managing to spend an hour or two at a time on it. Just the one track, but it was fun enough I didn't care. I am now getting (along with the anime) for my birthday (not today, so I have to wait a little), Ridge Race Type 4. Pardon me, I think I need to go do Solid Snake's little "YEAH!" victory jump... :D

I have recently fallen in love with a few of Dia's songs (as evidenced by one of the other threads), despite the fact that they are Megless, and despite/because they are depressing and sad and anger-inducing and oh God all these feelings.

Also, my little cousin graduated today, and she will be working with me, probably once Monday rolls around. :D
(She has worked at one of the other locations a few times because they were training her to replace the sandwich-maker that drives me crazy. So I get to work with her AND I get to not work with him!)

Trigun is in fact, the dopest of sauce. I thought I heard about a new Trigun recently?

Xenogears is in the mail btw. I would have mailed it sooner but I've had a crazy last few weeks.

Yes, actually. There was an animated movie a couple of years back. The anime's gotten a re-release a couple of times, in fact. The original one, back in the days of the original Pioneer set, then a re-release by Geneon as a "Signature" series, and Funimation just put it out again in '10, when Geneon went the way of ADV Films. (...I'll admit it. I'm getting pretty disturbed by this trend of the best English dubbing studios going belly-up the way they have. Tokyopop's demise didn't spell good news for North America's anime market either. :? ) Oh, and it's on Blu-Ray now, too.

Sweet! Thank you! I was gonna ask, but I didn't want to seem pushy. >.>;;

Sid Meier's Colonization is available on GOG now. I downloaded it yesterday. Ended up stopping for dinner two hours later than originally planned, barely even noticed when it was time to go to bed.
Verdict: Just as fun and addictive as when I was a kid.

To those who aren't in the know when it comes to gaming, GOG refers to Good Old Games, THE best source for old games on the planet. The specialize in getting old games to work smoothly on new versions of Windows. To quote their tagline:

What is GOG.com?
    1. DRM free games
    2. One world, fair price
    3. Extra bonus goodies
    4. Free games and more

Ooh! I just noticed that Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri is also available for $6! Neverwinter Nights Diamond edition for $10! Wing Commander 1+2 packaged together for $3! How am I ever going to find time to spend with my family?!?
CEOIII: I can't comprehend the idea that having sex with a willing partner is something to feel guilty about because afterwards that person ran like they just woke up with 3 dead coeds in the room.

Well this has been a pretty good week for me. Beginning with Saturday's trip to the Phoenix Comicon and getting a chance to meet Randy Milholland, Danielle Corsetto, and David Willis and ended with employment! It's not a dream job, but the pay is good and after 3 months I was getting scared I wouldn't find anything especially with school being out for the year. :D
