The bad day thread. That this place is awesome enough to have what's basically a mini-support-group in it. That the people here are awesome enough to offer advice and support. I love you guys. Seriously.

This song is my happy thing for today.

(That and the red licorice I've had stashed away for when I get a hankering for something sweet.)

My happy thing for today:

This song and cruising along the highway for a while with the windows down and my hair blowing all over the place.
Stand tall and shake the heavens.

Beep beep, I'm a jeep.

I've recently discovered that the local store sells these blocks of pre-cooked rice that taste surprisingly good after two minutes in the microwave with some soy sauce. Yum!

Not long after this xkcd a browser extension appeared that does replace the word "keyboard" by "leopard". I installed it and almost forgot it, now every once in a while I see a "leopard" in an unexpected place.

So, in desperation, went and bought some tuna fish for the cat.

Cat pigged out.

Well, it may have solved your immediate problem, but now you have a cat that expects tuna at every meal.

Whatever you do, don't give him bits of roast lamb, leftover from carving. We made that mistake just once, and it took two years to stop the cats begging every time meat was cooked. They never actually climbed onto the worksurface to forage (which is absolutely verboten in any case - no cats at table-height) but it was a close-run thing. :|

One more happy thing today! I wrote a really long poem (in Dutch, sorry) that can be summarized as:

See those 20 Euros in your wallet? They were in some guy's wallet when he died.
See those 50 Euros next to the 20? Someone once paid a prostitute with those.
See the 10 Euros? Those are all new and fresh and innocent. Why don't you buy me an icecream.

I bought one (even though it's bad for me, I shouldn't eat dairy products). Would you like to share?

Went to get an ice cream after all, then sat by the pond to eat it (and saw two turtles! One proper sized one that was just chilling at the surface, and itty baby one that was still working out propulsion and steering at the same time~ <3). Also, today's xkcd reminds me that it's almost Cadbury Egg season. \o/
