It wasn't an appointment for anything serious, just a check up for my depression and asthma meds.

Also, the cute nurse may have been flirting with me. ^///^

As for happiness, this might cross into serious, but... this song.
It makes me happier to believe that this is not meant as metaphor, where she is talking to someone else and making comparisons, but that she is being literal and talking to herself. Much more empowering when looked at from that perspective, I think.

For anyone who doesn't quite care for R&Bsy songs, here are some nice, quiet words:

The Lyrics wrote:How many times
Are you gonna take it?
Look in my eyes
Help me make this make sense

Night after night
You sat up and cried
Wondering when you're gonna see things clearer
You don't even realise
That at this very moment
You're talking to yourself in the mirror

It's true
So you think I'm strong but you're feelin' that you're weak
Baby I'm you
But we're one and the same so you're just as strong as me
Baby I'm you
And we deserve better it's time for us to leave
You know what to do
Cause I'm not a fool
So neither are you
Baby I'm you

Oh you're not crazy
If only you'd realize

That you and I
Are all the help we need

So why are we sitting here on the floor
(listen to me)
We ain't cryin' no more
I am your soul
I am your heart
My strength is yours (Oh my strength is yours)

Baby it's true
So you think I'm strong but you're feelin that you're weak
Baby I'm you
But we're one and the same so you're just as strong as me
Baby I'm you
And we deserve better it's time for us to leave
You know what to do
Cause I'm not a fool
So neither are you
Baby I'm you

So pick yourself up right now
We've been here too long
We've overstayed it enough
That might have been
It's been a long time gone

So wipe away the tears
Ain't nothing for us here
The time has come to move on

Oooohhhhhwwww

Baby we deserve better
And we're far too strong
To let this go on
Baby I'm you

So you think I'm strong but you're feelin' that you're weak
Baby I'm you
But we're one and the same so you're just as strong as me
Baby I'm you
And we deserve better it's time for us to leave
You know what to do
Cause I'm not a fool
So neither are you

Baby I'm you [x3]

I love the happy thread. I am absolutely knackered because I just got home after a 13.5 hour shift without a break, so my happy thing today is the happy thread and everyone on it, because it has made me smile extra.

On that note, the fact that the happy thread is like three times as long as the bad day thread.
The bad day thread is also very useful and seems pretty constructive, but look at all the good versus all the bad!

Even though the bad day thread is very valuable, as you said, the fact that the happy thread is so much longer than the bad day thread is definitely a happy thing.

Expanding on that, I'd like to put forth this entire community as a happy thing. You lot have all been so welcoming and friendly. And indulgent! : D

Yeah, we're pretty great. 8)
No, but seriously, I say it enough that it's going to lose meaning at some point, but I appreciate this board and all the people on it more than I can express.

That cat is much more adorable than mine, who is 23, not nearly as cute, and still has her claws for emphasis when she does that with me. But I'm happy that she's still around, and the vet says she gained two pounds in the month since her last visit, and she's almost back to 100%.

Three things made me happy today. In order of amount of happiness provided, least first:

My wicked side was quite pleased by this: http://alldeadmormonsarenowgay.com/ (If anyone isn't following enough of what's happening in the USA to get it, I can explain the joke).

I've been giggling all day about the latest xkcd: http://xkcd.com/1021/

Wednesday I was in the audience of a kind of talkshow sort of presenting two books, one of them by a poet I know through twitter. It was also my first time outside presenting as unambigously female (apart from a few visits to therapists and such). It was the best day of the year so far.
tweet translated from Dutch wrote:That was such fun, I am so tired now, you are so pretty. Kiss.

Before you congratulate me too much, let me make clear that the above was intended friendly, not flirty. BUT she is the kind of person who says exactly what she means and wouldn't lie to make someone happy.

I've been considered pretty. Yay!

Okay, Sara in the last two panels here (including her dialogue)? That's my reaction, every time I watch this. ♥♥♥
