So, yeah, as predicted....

Adding Serenity and Cowboy Bebop to my already ridiculously long list.

What can I say? I like movies, particularly ones that know what they want to say.

Okayokayokay, so, I dunno if you guys really keep up with my employment status, but I work in a kitchen.
OOPS I MEAN WORKED IN A KITCHEN.

I worked at a different store from my usual one yesterday. This morning, I got in, donned my hairnet and apron, then was told that a coworker I can't stand was fired while I was gone. This coworker was the cashier. SO GUESS WHO'S BACK TO CASHIER STATUS.

Oh God am I really this happy to be a cashier this is just sad.

He was caught giving his girlfriend food without charging her. He rang it into the register then cancelled it out and didn't run her credit card. She eats (ate) there every day, so you can imagine how ticked my boss must have been when he saw the guy doing that.

And I know I shouldn't be happy that someone was fired, but seriously, I hated that guy, plus it gave me room to get my desired position back. Plus I get tips as a cashier. <3

He once said that there shouldn't be rules about war. There should just be "war" and "not war." I was like, "Well, I'd like for innocent women to not get raped by enemy soldiers." His response? "You've got nothing to worry about, we never get invaded." I hope he crashes in a ditch. We could do with fewer of his kind.

That's great news, Val. Especially since it means you'll get that extra bit of income through tips.

Mmhm. <3

Plus seriously, fuck that guy.

I made $16 today. X3 Gave it to Dad for gas money, but one day of tips a week should cover that well enough, probably. (He drives me to and from work, so I try to give him money for gas whenever I have a dollar or two to throw his way-- which is generally any time that I would close the front for the guy that used to work there, because I would get like $1-$2 in tips during that last hour-ish.)

So, assuming I make at least $10 a day from tips, I'll be able to afford not crying into my pillow for a little while, maybe!
That last part was supposed to be sad enough to be funny, but I apologize if it did not have the intended effect.

I am just home from three and a half hours of overtime on an already 9 to 5 day. I am in my pyjamas and sitting down and it feels FANTASTIC. Pizza has been ordered and is on its way.

BTW, if we're going Celtic punk for this party (and keeping on topic with the theme of this thread), how about a song or two from Dropkick Murphys? Have you ever seen so many happy women up on stage at once? I could've sworn I caught a glimpse of Alice and Tamar come down from Toronto for the show.

Well, yes. That was kind of the joke...
