I can see transgendered, but I'm not going to jump until I get more evidence. Especially since Lisa's bi.

Remember the y-fronts. They most likely belong to the person who just scarpered. Based on that, I'm going to suggest this is a pre-op MtF who has not yet accepted being a lesbian--she thinks of herself as a woman, but also thinks that means she MUST be attracted to guys.

EDIT TO ADD:

Clearly, T. and Jason have decided to react to all the Lisa-haters by playing a game of Break the Cutie. Don't blame us, folks, when Lisa starts walking around campus with a blood-dripping knife, cackling.

Some cis butches might wear them, and there's women's underwear styled that way as well.

A cis butch might--but probably wouldn't have had the freak-out we just witnessed of suddenly insisting, "I'm a woman". It's the composite of those that's leading me to go with untransitioned MtF lesbian. (I'm aware there's women's underwear styled in that fashion, but frankly,

Now, I just did a quick archive dip. Build-wise, of the characters we've seen, this could be Dani or Bob--but neither of them has skin that dark. Meanwhile, Val might match the skin-tone, but she seems thinner than our mystery guest. So I'm gonna go with a hitherto unknown character that Lisa met and hooked up with.

As is usual, I'm holding judgement to see what T's going to do with this.

I'm thinking new character, too.

And on reflection, I'm more inclined now to see this person as a trans woman in the early stage of it. I'm not even going to try and guess as to her orientation, though. Her panicky reaction could mean "Why do I keep having sex as if I were a man [i.e. penile-vaginal intercourse], when I'm a woman?" just as plausibly as it could mean "Why do I keep having sex with women when, as a woman, I should only be attracted to men?"

Yeah, that probably makes the most sense. My first thought was "transboy in denial," and that it was something Freudian that "kept happening," and was trying to figure out just what. Plus the hips are male, and Sara, who knew Lisa was looking for a girl at least at the start of the night, initially thought the voice was male, and the underwear, and why the hell did I think that?

I don't know about that. I've never met a transperson who was homophobic. If you can accept that the gender in your brain doesn't match the sex of your body, you're probably open enough to accept a nonstandard sexual orientation as well.

It's more likely that this trans woman is upset because she woke up to find her body reacting in ways that do not match her gender identity... as in, she's got morning wood.

Neither have I, I admit. And yes, it would be a particularly strange attitude for such a person to have. Nonetheless, I have encountered gays and lesbians who are biphobic, even though you'd think they, too, should know better. So it's not out of the realm of possibility, especially for someone who still, from the looks of it, is far from secure and comfortable with herself.

I could see that, except she doesn't say, "Why does it [i.e., my body] keep doing this [i.e., having a biologically male response]?", but rather "Why do I keep doing this [i.e., having sex with a woman in a 'male' way]?"

Normally the first option would seem much more likely because a transperson will have thought a lot about their sexual identity while figuring things out, and will have looked up and learned about most things in QUILTBAG. However, this character may be an immigrant from a very QUILTBAG-unfriendly country (dark skin, native language is French...).

I think we won't find out whether tab A was inserted in slot B except by asking T*, but somehow I can't imagine Lisa, after having had a rough day, being awake and sensitive enough to completely ignore a penis. So, if said body part exists, I'm pretty sure SOMETHING was done with it, and that by itself is enough reason to freak out. And she may indeed also be freaking out because of being in bed with a woman.

*) I'm not going to.

Actually, aren't there a number of Islamic countries where gay men are "allowed" to live as a woman to escape death or long sentences? I know this is true in Pakistan, although I don't think it's the case in any French-speaking countries...

IIRC that is so in Iran, but they don't speak French there either.

That is only in Iran, and they have to undergo Sex Reassignment Surgery. It is not quite that gay men are 'allowed' to live as women so much as many opt to live as women so as to actually, well, stay alive.

There was even a time in this country where it was considered alright for gay men to have SRS in order to 'cure' them.
There was a girl who had a little curl right in the middle of her forehead, and when she was good, she was very, very good, and when she was bad she was homicidal.

Not quite this country, but I think we all know of a particular gay Englishman a few scant decades ago who was ordered to chemical castration...

(I could swear I saw this in a story on the "hijras" of Pakistan... I don't know.)
