3 Feb 12: a perfect icebreaker

Don't you love it when a new strip doesn't answer any questions, but instead provides more?

For the record, I do not love it.

Especially a Friday strip, right? I'm formulating my theories...

Is there an e-mail list we can sign up for that lets us know when Lisa shows up again?

Go ask Alice; I think she'll know.

...okay, anything in previous strips that even suggests what the hell happened here?

...that... could... maybe be Monica? Possibly? She dressed down after leaving the rush?

...that raises more questions than answers, doesn't it...

I thought the stranger might be Monica, but the hair is black and the pants are blue and considering how much time she spent at the sorority I'm sure she could identify her voice. Besides if she felt that strong of a connection with Lisa she would've followed her out the door.

Sara is in her own room since the key wouldn't work otherwise and while her inner monologue didn't identify the second voice it's most likely Lisa's. Perhaps Lisa met someone who's transgendered or in the process of and having a rough time of it.

Seems obvious to me. It's Lisa and Monette.

Aww, scooped by Brasca.

To expand my glib Something Positive reference: Lisa found a transsexual, I'm not sure in which direction, and brought them home. They are obviously conflicted, what with wearing male clothes and having a woman's voice and apparently being unhappy afterwards about having sex as a male.

In S*P, Monette was introduced as a woman who'd decided she was lesbian but kept sleeping with men. "Dumb confused slut" would be rude but accurate. Later she stabilizes and ends up in a relationship with someone named Lisa, who managed to be even dumber, thus making her rather unlike our Lisa. Still...

I don't recall S*P-Lisa being dumb. An acerbic foil to Monette's girly-girlishness, yes, but dumb?

S*P Lisa isn't dumb. D:

I'm also going to go with the transgender/transsexual guess. Because anything other than that just... almost sounds rapey and unpleasant. ("Go back to sleep." "No, get off of me!" ...Wow.) In fact, some sort of rape was my first thought.

Also, who here knows French, and would you please translate for me?

Also, if the voice other than the francophone trans person is Lisa's, that makes the fourth disappointment for her tonight. :(

"What am I doing?" is what the person's saying in the first panel.

You could also say she was polysexual on account of the koala incident. At least our Lisa didn't have a similar encounter.

It's been a while since high school French, but I think it's 'What am I doing?'

I'll defer to y'all about S*P Lisa; I don't have really specific memories, just that she managed to give Monette a run for her money.

Fourth? Stan, sorority...
