By a few feet, I take it you mean at least a dozen feet away, in a crowded and noisy room, where you are concentrating on getting to know a whole new group of people without making a (bigger) fool out of yourself, right?
*shrug* A couple of strips ago, it didn't look like there were any people blocking the view between Sara's group and Lisa. I have no doubt that Sara didn't do anything deliberate here, and I'm sure she'll wonder what happened to Lisa soon enough, anyway. But about two strips back, they didn't appear to be a great distance from each other.

Ah yes, out into the mean streets of a well-lit private campus. Here's the crime rates for the school Qbag is based on:
College of William and Mary Williamsburg, Virginia
Total enrollment: 7874
Criminal Incidents (most recent 3 calendar years): Murder: 0
Negligent Murder: 0
Forcible Rape: 12
Nonforcible Rape: 0
Robbery: 2
Aggravated Assault: 2
Burglary: 61
Motor Vehicle Theft: 2
Arson: 2
Not exactly a seething bed of mayhem and anarchy.
My apologies... I'm unaware of the crime rates of specific American college towns, nor was I aware that these statistics were well known. I don't live in the US.
And as someone who has lived in several "safe" neighbourhoods, yet still has been threatened to have my head cut off and consequently followed by a schizophrenic, threatened to be "shanked" by some random crazy dude, and had a neighbour (with some sort of imbalance) continually try to get me in his house "so he could ask me something", I guess I'm just cautious.
But I'm not disagreeing with you on any count. Just an FYI.
