I agree with 1, 2, and 4, although as far as 3 goes I guess it depends on whether or not her tweets were along the lines of "got kicked out of a party for not being gay enough lololol" or something.

By a few feet, I take it you mean at least a dozen feet away, in a crowded and noisy room, where you are concentrating on getting to know a whole new group of people without making a (bigger) fool out of yourself, right?

*shrug* A couple of strips ago, it didn't look like there were any people blocking the view between Sara's group and Lisa. I have no doubt that Sara didn't do anything deliberate here, and I'm sure she'll wonder what happened to Lisa soon enough, anyway. But about two strips back, they didn't appear to be a great distance from each other.

Ah yes, out into the mean streets of a well-lit private campus. Here's the crime rates for the school Qbag is based on:

College of William and Mary
Williamsburg, Virginia
Total enrollment: 7874
Criminal Incidents (most recent 3 calendar years):
Murder: 0
Negligent Murder: 0
Forcible Rape: 12
Nonforcible Rape: 0
Robbery: 2
Aggravated Assault: 2
Burglary: 61
Motor Vehicle Theft: 2
Arson: 2

Not exactly a seething bed of mayhem and anarchy.

My apologies... I'm unaware of the crime rates of specific American college towns, nor was I aware that these statistics were well known. I don't live in the US.

And as someone who has lived in several "safe" neighbourhoods, yet still has been threatened to have my head cut off and consequently followed by a schizophrenic, threatened to be "shanked" by some random crazy dude, and had a neighbour (with some sort of imbalance) continually try to get me in his house "so he could ask me something", I guess I'm just cautious.

But I'm not disagreeing with you on any count. Just an FYI.

Despite what's been in the news lately, college campuses in the US are some of the safest places to be. Well-lit; populated mostly by tweedy professors, more-scholarly-than-average young adults, and background-checked employees; and heavily patrolled, usually by a campus police force. Obviously, this is going to vary a bit by urban/suburban/rural, or big city/small town, but on the whole if I was walking alone at night, a college campus is where I'd want to do it.

I think it's way too soon to judge Sara. You can say she was only a few feet away, but if Sara wasn't paying much attention, she wouldn't have noticed right away. Why would she stay if she saw Lisa get thrown out? Lisa was the one who brought her there! Plus, given what Sara was wearing when she left, I didn't see much pocket space for carrying a cellphone...

Also, I just wanna say: in times like these, Lisa's memes come out really naturally to me. I'm actually the kind of person who uses internet memes outside the internet a lot. Even my mom's picked up on a few from me and from browsing various macro and fandom websites. And I have totally done that thing where you're just by yourself and have a moment where you get all "...FOREVERALONE.jpg" and make a face, and then make yourself laugh because then you picture the face and it's just ridiculous.

That aside, the focus on Lisa walking aware is both beautiful and worrying. I love transitions like these, since it really tells you that she's probably not just leaving to go home without actually having to tell you. I have a feeling our "heroine" won't be letting herself stay alone for long, especially with the little hint/inclusion of another frat in the background of that first panel.

EDIT: Also, just in regards to the college crime rate: at my campus, "Greek Row" is actually considered one of the most dangerous place to walk around at night by students. My campus is a pretty major university in a large city, and while within the campus itself is considered completely safe, Greek row is in a neighborhood north of the campus (and not considered campus itself, actually) and is actually where most muggings occur. Our campus police department sends out emails whenever something happens, and more often than not, that's where incidents have occurred.

I can't wait to see Sara's reaction to Lisa so called 'leaving'. I doubt she'll believe it.

And I'm glad to see that Lisa can keep her chin up. Though the forever alone face is too creepy. O.o

Come to that, where did Lisa's phone appear from? No way that outfit of hers has pockets.

Oh my. That's... sad. And a bit of complexity shown from her; inbetween her moments of vulnerability and humour and memetic goodness.
I'm curious to see Sara's reaction. While a lot of case seems to be made on her being far enough from Lisa not to see her being kicked; a big question must be asked about Sara herself; does she want to leave?
For someone who's experienced being the in crowd, struggled with being a lesbian and being isolated, accused, and judged. And now, here she is, in a group of people with at least similar identity (I'd use the word like-minded, but that's too soon); which seems to happen in her early days of college after what she'd experienced with Fiona.. I can see her being too excited to notice, or worse, care, for a moment or so, about Lisa leaving / being kicked. (And plenty of other factors to sway her judgment, too!)

I sure hope Sara will pursue Lisa, however. Lonely Lisa is Lonely.
And Lisa's skirt still can contain a cellphone, methinks.

Inside the waistband? Strapped to her inner thigh under her skirt? Funny how the possibilities all make me think of carrying a concealed handgun. These days you can even buy an insde the front of your pants rig called Thunderwear. I'm surprised I haven't heard of anyone accidentally shooting themselves in the crotch wearing a rig like that.

If Lisa can pull off memefaces, she can pull off hammerspace, too.

I think she could at least guess from the way Leah presented the charter.

... And Sara comes home tonight to find Lisa and Fiona wearing each other like a pair of opera gloves.
