Also, Bob appears to be either trans or intersex. Alice, AFAWK, is neither.

Yes and no. While it's been a few years since I've seen it, I'm pretty sure the first five minutes is himself and Ellie as kids, exploring a broken-down house. I think it's the next 10-15 minutes that are the montage. So it baffles me that Sara has that attitude towards it, it's an amazingly moving scene.

I'm definitely having trouble figuring out what Sara thinks she's doing. Lisa seems to be having the same problem. Her odd behaviour would also seem to be at odds with somone who is apparently trying to keep a low profile. After all her name change is presumably to distance her from her reality TV past. Yet here she is acting in a way that could get people talking about her for the wrong reasons.

Lisa on the other hand seems to be on the verge of turning into Izzy from Total Drama Island et al. Next thing you know she'll be claiming to be on the run from the US Marshal's Service, to have wrestled a radioactive shark while riding a giant land octopus in Borneo, and asking people to call her Jebidiah P. Thunderbolt.

Yeah, I don't think Sara's ripping on the movie, she's just noting that the first 15 minutes are EXTREMELY well-done heart-stabby, and thus difficult to watch over and over again. Not saying Val will hear it that way, just that I think folks are being a bit too hard on her in this thread.

And yes, awesome supporting cast is awesome.

She's definitely saying the start of Up is hard to watch repeatedly because it's such a heart-breaker, not because it's bad. I remember that it made me cry in the cinema and only a half-dozen or so movies (and 4 video games) have managed that.

I kind of see what Sara's trying to do.

I wouldn't call it flirting, really, but whatever name you'd give to that age old school-boy method of picking on the girl you like so she notices you kind of thing. At least, that's the vibe I'm getting.

And honestly... I dunno. I don't see it as Sara making a social pariah of herself or something by doing what she's doing. Dry/snide/slightly sarcastic humor like the kind she's employing here can be an extremely efficient ice-breaker - being able to snark with someone can be quite the privilege. I hope someone sees what I mean, I feel like I stopped making sense a while ago
