So let us get this right:

QB (@ http://quiltbag.keenspot.com) picks up where P&A (@ http://www.pennyandaggie.com) wrapped up?

Or will P&A be revisited some time down the road that is 2012??

Here's the timeline:

P&A's last consecutive chapter--Last Summer of Youth--took place the summer of P&A's Junior year.

Then there was a fairly massive skip-forward to the five-year reunion, wherein we learn that P&A stayed together for a little while, then broke up, and pretty much stayed that way, though they remained friends. At the end of that arc, however, there was a hint they might get back together.

Then we did a partial re-wind to the beginning of QUILTBAG--taking place the first year of college.

Now, at this point in time, Sara and Penny, and Lisa and Aggie, are still good friends, so they are probably going to be in touch occasionally. However, this is during the hiatus in P&A's relationship--each of them is off doing different things (and people) at their own schools.

So P&A might make individual cameos (say, when the girls go back home for holiday breaks), but really, T. is done with their story--it's now the Lisa and Sara show.

I think that's a reasonable interpretation.

I meant to ask: was it meant as a nod to the famous fanfic?

I'd love to say so. But I try to keep fanfic out of my head when I write. Too easy to borrow more than I should, otherwise.

In the 1990s Princeton was thinking about getting rid of tuition altogether. They backed off on that, but an influx of poorer students might not hurt them that much.

This is a bit late, but yeah. Until 2009 or so, the few schools in the country with very, very large endowments (basically, Harvard, Yale, Princeton, and I think Stanford, maybe a couple other schools) had been faced with a problem -- their endowments were growing faster than they could spend the money and it was starting to threaten their non-profit, tax-exempt status. There was a very real possibility that they would have to move to a tuition free system as a result. This is also what all the construction on those campuses was about. Princeton hired Frank Gehry to design their new biology library, for example, because they needed a money sink. From what I've been hearing, they're starting to see runaway growth again too, so we may see free tuition from these schools within the next 20 years.

The problem with this, incidentally, is that the amount of funding these schools have available puts tremendous pressure on everyone else to supply the same kind of facilities and financial aid without the same means. Well, that and that it leads them to make bad choices. The Gehry library is reportedly less than popular and I believe I've heard that it's already leaking.

Interesting background!
As for the leaking -- great, they'll have an excuse to burn more money fixing it! :) But yeah, Gehry buildings seem prone to that. I don't care what your building looks like if it doesn't, y'know, work as a building.

Maybe they're constructing faulty buildings deliberately, as future money-sinks? :)

T, will you be doing anything to protest SOPA on the 18th?

Of the hall-mates we met earlier, who's roomed with who?

(...whom? I'm not so great with grammar...)

By now, a visit to any of my comics sites should tell you the answer to this.

1. I can't find "previous" and "next" buttons on the QB site. Are they not there yet or am I just not seeing them?

2. What would Lisa think of Meg & Dia?

You can also click one page to get to the next page.

Offhand, I'd say that Lisa enjoys experimentation as long as it seems like it's coming from a genuine place. I wasn't familiar with Meg & Dia and I've researched them only lightly, but that seems like it describes them.

Seriously though, i also noticed the buttons only after searching extensively...T, may i suggest moving the buttons right below the comic instead of below the archives?

(i can start listing the benefits to that if you'd like)
