Penny needs a wake up call. Yes, she's distressed over the whole college thing, but holy shit does she need to constantly belittle someone else in the room to get that across.

This relationship she wants with Aggie isn't going to work out if she only likes Aggie when she's being strong and is repulsed any time Aggie shows weakness.

That's probably a causative agent for drama. Person B looks pretty darned FETCHING when she's angry, so Person A gets a friggin' CHARGE out of making her angry.

Also, SHAKEN AGGIE SYNDROME. Well, she's showing spine now, by not getting whiplash and actually struggling herself against Penny. And yes, Penny should have said something before. Or Lisa and Aggie should have told them what the film was going to look like. I dunno about it being too Internet, though. Look at most movies these days.

Well, I've never actually shipped Agenny, so my feelings are...well, good.

I don't think they're working. I never thought they *would* work, beyond the concept of friendy soulmates. This strip is a pretty clear demonstration of why: Aggie doesn't understand that being forceful because someone wants you to be isn't actual strength--though she might've learned the lesson by the end of the strip--and Penny needs to be off-balance and challenged to be happy. That's not necessarily a flaw, but it's manifesting itself as one right now.

Umm, Hi everyone, finally decided to make an account and throw in my two cents.

To me, personally, I don't think major huge rage fest on Aggie's part is going to happen. Penny, in those last few panels, is simply shaking Aggie in that overly exaggereated way for what I think are 2 reasons. 1) for effect. She isn't violently shaking the life out of Aggie here. She's simply adding emphasis to her words. My friends and I do this all the time, in the "OMG THAT GUY IS SO WRONG FOR YOUUUU. WHY CAN'T YOU SEE ITTTT" kinda way. There is no harm caused or any real violence or force to the movement.

2) It's a comic. As stated earlier, the medium kind of requires the overblown action.

I honestly believe if Aggie was just Penny's friend here, the abuse idea wouldn't even be in question. It would just be another scene between one friend trying to smarten another up in a comedic way. Really, just because Penny and Aggie are lovers, doesn't mean their over the top, banterific dynamic changes to an "OMG ANY TYPE OF NON LOVING ADORING CONTACT IS ABUSE CALL THE FEDS." Despite the relationship status, they are still Penny and Aggie, who thrive on pushing each others buttons. That doesn't need to change just because they've slept together. In fact, it shouldn't.

Also, I don't know about anyone else, but Aggie's expression in that last panel does not scream RAGE to me. It screams, petulant annoyance at a friends interference. Really, it just looks more like a childish pout to me.

Not EXACTLY the same scenario, and not really what Penny is trying to say, but similar. What Rich did was implied to be pretty spur-of-the-moment, as most things he did were. Penny's been thinking about this since she heard her parents talking. And she's not telling Aggie to cave to her, either, the way she and Rich were always trying to get the other to cave. She's telling Aggie to stand up for herself and stop thinking short-term success.

In a sense, very Stan-like. Just less smiley and more...well, more Penny.

Not only that, the time limit here is very real for BOTH of them. Rich could have chosen to stay in Belleville, but he didn't. Penny had no real cause to leave Belleville besides Rich. P&A are BOTH leaving the town for college, presumably, so if they want to stay together, even for a short time, they should leave together.
