Steve is speaking from within a segment of comics culture that I've ended up spending little time in, and some of his assumptions are different. But he's right about writers' tendency to underestimate how long art takes, the relative ease of writing and the issues of co-ownership versus a page rate. For what it's worth, when I ask for a percentage share, it's usually not 50% and I usually offer to handle other chores, not just writing.

I normally have minimal reaction to the fashions represented in this comic, however, the dress that Penny is wearing to the reunion "antebellum barbie" as she was dubbed in the forum... I beg an explaination of this fashion choice. I mean, is Penny hiding a pregnancy or something? It seems so... frumpy and formal in an out-dated kind of way.

Enlighten me, please T?
I happen to like Lisa BECAUSE of the way she speaks. If you don't get her, oh well... you are the one missing out.

Or I could make a novel for Nanowrimo. I dunno.

I've tried it twice now, with a story idea I've had simmering in my brain since 2007. I've failed both times. Of course, during one, I was in the last semester of my Associate's Degree and taking about four classes at once, and in the other, I was starting up my Bachelor's *and* in the middle of a move. If you're gonna do it, make sure you don't have too many distractions in your life, because it gets far too easy to let everything else distract you from it. :?

I didn't succeed at NaNo until after I graduated from college, probably because I was also working my way through college while also attending full-time.

I believe there is now a Camp NaNoWriMo that runs through July and again through August, which I think is a great idea - November seems to be widely considered a pretty terrible time to take on the commitment of writing 50,000 words.

Missed this one before. It's unlikely but not impossible.

Script asked for "the ultimate prom dress." I wanted to channel a bit of that feeling, and to acknowledge Penny's creative roots (most of her inspirations are Southern belles) and play up the contrast between her and Aggie. Manly/femmey clothes, manly/femmey drinks.

Oh, that reminds me of an actual question! Was the choice of appletini as Aggie's drink chosen in response to the appearance of that drink in the season premiere Two and Half Men, or is it just a coincidence? I assume coincidence, but seeing as that was such a big TV "event" even I watched the damn thing, and the manliness of Appletinis being raised, and then hours later an appletini appeared in Aggie's hand...

Let's play one more round of "where are they now?"!

Charisma? Cyndi? Omar? Bob and Elmer? CHARLES?

To be honest, on this one I just googled "girliest drink." That idea isn't original with Two and a Half Men.

What, precisely, is Sara looking so shocked at--is it that P&A are speaking at all, or the outfits, or something else, like she'd heard that Aggie was kidnapped by the Symbionese Liberation Army, siezed control, and was now in charge of a small South American nation?

I'm not telling you anything about Cyndi. The rest are nothing too earth-shattering. Charles is getting a little old but still with us. Bob got religion, but not intelligence, and Katy-Ann has been studiously avoiding him at this reunion. Omar would be completely unrecognizable at this point: he's doing data entry and still figuring out what he wants. Charles is a little old but still with the Levacs, who pamper him properly. Elmer's death led to the retirement of the Darwin Awards, as he did what he did hoping for a "near miss" honorable mention. "We weren't trying to encourage anyone," said the spokesman.

That P&A are looking flirty.

One time I told someone my favorite joke (the Muffin Joke) and they said "Oh yeah that's from "Two and a Half Men"; I remember that," and I cried inside.

Sam wouldn't really recognize herself now. She fell in with a crowd of firebrands in college that had rhetoric similar to hers but were a lot more proactive. After about six months of seeing the results of that, Sam converted her politics but kept most of her headstrong nature. She's married to a white guy now.

Braz got an athletic scholarship and then went into car sales. He's doing okay.

Meg is disappointed.

Karen is a party planner who has changed her name for "professional reasons."

I had a similar prediction regarding Sam. I figured in college she might realize for the first time that some of her perceptions of racism was largely paranoid ignorance although I did not see her getting married to a white guy. It's good to know because I don't think all of the antagonists in this series were evil. Some were so 2 dimensional I thought there was room to expand on their characters. Sam apparently changed for the better although Tharqa not so much. I suppose this (and probably lack of space) explains why Sam isn't at the reunion. I assume that like Helen and Stan she made peace, but probably doesn't want to be around people who remind her who she used to be.

How DID Tharqa go about losing what appears to be a pretty significant amount of weight?
