So, since the old answer thread came back, AFAIK, it's census time again:

Xena: Scientologist, perhaps customized

Lisa: atheist of Jewish heritage?
Jack, Stan: ditto?
Michelle: casual Christian?

Penny was all "Get help! Swear! Swear to Jesus!" to Michelle.

We could add Melody into the list of blanks, too. I could see her being a bit of a hippie-Christian, given her post-dead-bird lecture.

I was on an archive binge when I came across this strip, and realized it had never really caught my attention before.

Is Penny already thinking of Aggie here when she blushes? Or is she thinking back to Rich? I'd assumed the latter when I first read it, but now I'm not so sure. If it's the former, I just hadn't thought that Penny was already having those sorts of thoughts/feelings about Aggie.

Hey T, why does Stan want his name in the credits of Aggie's video? Penny correctly points out that the video would be a setback to anyone wanting to work in pretty much any major company, or its subsidiaries. Wouldn't having his name associated with it go directly against Stan's career interests?

Only three pages later, Penny has her 'Taste The Rainbow' dream. And those were some very suggestive clouds in that first panel.

I didn't think Jack was particularly atheistic. I thought he was generally more culturally Jewish than religious Jewish, but a believer to some degree, and that his faith had become a bit more of a focus is his life since he started dating Katy-Ann.

My understanding is that Michelle is actually not casual about her Christianity - and similarly, that Jack takes his Judaism more seriously than that (though still not on the level of KA and Charlotte).

Stan may not have been aware of the general nature of the video, or that it would be quite so... terrible.

Stan also might want it for the same reason he wanted the class presidency. Associate Producer of a video looks good in the bonus parts of a college application or a resume, particularly when an overworked HR department isn't going to YouTube do do anything but make sure it's posted.

Aggie: Agnostic, has "it's complicated" relationship with faith and God since the death of Melody (but seems to believe Melody's watching over her, subconsciously at least)
Melody: Christian, has her own opinions based on Scripture
Penny: casual Christian, most inclined to invoke God during times of extreme stress
Katy-Ann: active Christian, love emphasis. Episcopalian, possibly future Unitarian. More focused on underlying principles than the letter of the law.
Charlotte: active Christian, Hell emphasis. Belief system started going into flux after getting close to Duane.
Duane: secret Muslim. Quietly investigating it in a quest for his true identity.
Xena: Scientologist of sorts, believes what she reads on the Internet and considers that religious education.

Rob, Lynda: Christians, got more serious after their marriage
Lisa: Generally atheist with Jewish heritage, willing to go a bit agnostic after getting close to people like Aggie and Katy-Ann
Jack: Jewish believer, likely convert to Christianity
Stan: Is money and fame a religion? If so, he's that. Jewish background.
Michelle: Most conservative Christian of the cast other than early Charlotte, prefers not to think things through when she doesn't have to.
Brandi: Casual Christian, doesn't really dwell on the Bible's sexual prohibitions
Sara: Goes to church sometimes because her dad wants to, not really a believer
Nick: Christian. Strong believer, but even more firm that Aggie should make up her own mind.
Marshall: Nominal nonbeliever, mildly curious, may become religious sometime in college
Charisma: Gave it up years ago
Bob, Elmer: Nominally Christian but too intellectually lazy to connect any teachings with their lives
Tharqa: Whatever you say, pal (God hates fags, Charlotte? Okay! God would hate fag-bashers if he existed, Helen? Okay!)
Karen: Nominally Christian, more of a social Darwinist in practice
Helen: Atheist AFAIK (Randy has some say in that now: anything I didn't nail down in the text of Penny and Aggie, or discuss with him, is his call)
Fred: Closest to a Deist: believes in a generally benevolent universe and that things will work out
Daphne: Atheist (Whedonism doesn't really count...no, she didn't model her faith on Joss Whedon's own atheism, but their common beliefs about many things encouraged her fandom)
Meg: The world is just
Samantha: There's no justice
Cyndi: Nihilist, some tendencies toward the psychotic belief that the universe exists solely for her benefit

Not really. Stan's immediate goal is a good college. The message he wants to send to them is "I am a living explosion of talents and interests. I will surely distinguish myself in life. Admit me, and you can take some of the credit for that." Or, if you're a bit less cynical, "Admit me, and your school can increase my contributions to society, and my natural abilities will make that increase greater than it would be in other students." Colleges have nothing against anti-corporate stuff. They care about breadth of accomplishments, and the quality of the accomplishments that are most purely his. His political campaigns show quality. His production credit here would be about breadth.

By the time he's a senior and looking for a real job (assuming some startup doesn't hire him sooner), his high school experience will be a mere footnote. Even if his name were tied to this video-- and even if it became a huge hit against all odds-- he wouldn't be the first corporate guy to have a fiery, anti-corporate phase in his youth.

Penny has been having some thoughts about Aggie since alllll the way back in "Campaign Trail," when Sara basically put forth the Slap Slap Kiss theory about them. What's changed in that scene is that now they're friends, having talks about relationships as friends do, and Penny discovers she's really not comfortable with Aggie talking about her tingles. Being Penny, she tries to take charge of the situation in an extroverted manner and saves her introspection for later.
