The answer is: Back in 2006, the organizers of the annual Web Cartoonists' Choice Awards had various web cartoonists come together to create an awards ceremony online, as it were, using their own characters. T and Gisèle had the honour of commemorating notable webcomics that had ended the previous year, and the result was this.

(No, I've no idea what's going on with Aggie's outfit there, either.)
