While I agree Katy is very unlikely to cheat the girl is human. A good shipper doesn't need likelyhood, just the possibility to exist. It makes the story that much more interesting to watch unfold. I would not think any less of either character so long as the circumstances involved were true to the characters. Duane would never undermine Jack but neither would he turn away a friend in need of comfort. Katy is committed to the idea of monogamy but from what the comic says the relationship has not been consummated and won't likely be until marriage. There is also the factor that Jack has her on a pedestal whereas Duane respects her as an equal on an intellectual and moral level. A pedestal is a lonely and precarious perch. All these factors add up to a fairly strong possibility, just a low likelyhood.

It is indeed. I'd assumed--hoped--that after "Communion," Jack would realize Katy-Ann wasn't some sort of flawless Platonic Form of Woman (not that he'd put it like that), but a real human being with strengths and weaknesses, and that he'd put aside all his "I am not worthy to lick the boots of this goddess, cringe cringe" stuff. But because, like most of us, I grew up with "problems solved in one episode or less" entertainment, I suppose I sometimes forget that this comic is much more like real life, where personal progress doesn't necessarily follow a straight line and is rarely if ever achieved overnight.
