No, I was wrong. On second thought it makes perfect sense that Karen was in the car watching. Now knowing that Aggie was interested in Marshall it makes sense for a person like Karen to start spying.

That does have Karen written all over it, I was just hesitant to jump to conclusions about her. I find her horrible and pathetically obsessed, but that makes me deliberately cautious when interpreting her actions. So I won't be surprised if she's in the car, I just didn't want to go there off the bat. Plus Marshall's really turning into Mr. Codependent, so I wouldn't really be shocked if he did something like that.

I don't think it's Karen's car, and here's why;
I think Karen's tears are due to her insecurity; Marshall calls and says Aggie made a move, and a big twinge of 'Oh God, I have competition' opens up.
I don't see that same insecurity reducing her to tears if she'd just seen Marshall yell down Aggie's confession.

I know it's not very logical, but that's my interpretation.

i'd like to point out here that charlotte is also shrill and self-righteous, but karen seems to have no problem with it.

Charlotte is a (disposable) tool to Karen. She can despise Aggie for those qualities and continue to exploit Charlotte without any inconsistency, really.

I joined just to say this:

This strip really reminded me of just how young this cast is. There was big drama and now everyone is freaking out instead of dealing with it...Karen is crying because she's angry and scared; Aggie's crying because she dealt with a situation in a less than ideal way, and got a ridiculously harsh overreaction.

Normally, much though I love this comic, I have a hard time remembering that the cast members are in high school. They act more like college kids most of the time. But this...I remember fights like this from high school. Not with the rape videos and the various twists, obviously, but the fights over guys where everyone overreacted and everyone ended up in tears.

Here's hoping Aggie gets up next strip :)

Seeing isn't hearing. Karen would have to guess about what Aggie and Marshall were saying. She must have been terrified right up to the moment where she saw Marshall run off and Aggie fall to her knees.

That was very quick. o.o

I feel really bad for Aggie. She doesn't deserve this.

No, she doesn't. It's mean, unfair and hurts sooo much.

But honestly? I think Aggie NEEDS it.

It'll give her focus and some seriously needed realism. It's a harsh lesson about wrongly placed idealismn that she just got taught and I really hope she'll understand it. If she does, Aggie'll come back stronger than before.

Here's another wacky hypothesis from me, but what if Marshall listened to Aggie about some of it and told Karen he needed a break?

If Marshall hadn't said something nasty to Karen, why would she bother rubbing salt in the wound? Why would she be CRYING? From the Karen we know, it seems that this whole thing went according to her plans... so there must be another reason she's so upset.

Hmm.

OOOOOOOH, I'd love that one. Doesn't seem like our more-issues-than-national-geographic Marshall, though. I think the whole thing would make him to close his eyes even firmer and cling to Karen, aka "She, the perfect one, the only one who understands me!", even more.

I like that theory. It makes sense, but I wish we knew how much time had passed between the fight and the phone call. How could Marshall have told her everything in the span of two minutes? He would have had to call right away and not hesitated in telling Karen the details.

Yeah. She's been struck down. Now it's time for her to become more powerful than Karen can possibly imagine.

...what? Karen *was* Aggie's Padawan, after all.

Karen made a mistake, I think. Once Aggie gets over the "WAH WOE WOE WOE" thing, she'll be seeing red, and who better to help then Penny? Karen is gonna have a hell of a time dealing with both of them UNITED.

I find myself agreeing with a lot of he other posters about the time issue. Karen pulls up in her car as soon as Marshall is out of sight, not giving Aggie time to pick herself up. I doubt she'd sit on the side of the road crying for much more than a couple of minutes.

Now it's tome for another wacky theory. Suppose all the Karen following in the car stuff is correct. What if Marshall knew Karen was following along, either because she mentioned it or (more likely) he noticed her car. (He'd probably know what it looks like.) He just let it go because he knows Karen is insecure about Aggie and their relationship is so good.

He'd definitely be less inclined to listen to Aggie if he knew Karen was watching.

And the similarity between Karen's mentality and Sith philosophy has been noted more than once...

As if Helen couldn't sink any lower! Honestly, I didn't think I would hate any fictional charecter more than the Wizard of Oz from Wicked but Helen just tottally takes the cake here!

Its not enough for her to have the power of popularity but she goes and destorys Penny's social life within seconds. But now, she has the gall to call Aggie a slut? The nerve of that self absorbed pig!
